Who you are
- Bachelor's degree or related field experience, in particular consumer compliance credit card
- 10+ years of experience in consumer protection compliance financial services field
- Extensive experience in Consumer Protection card compliance with advanced understanding of applicable regulatory requirements
- Proven track record with developing, implementing and optimizing a consumer finance based monitoring and testing program
- Solutions oriented, collaborator with extensive experience with bank partnership programs
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable
- CRCM certification (American Bankers Association)
- Experience with both banking and Fintech compliance programs
What the job involves
- The Compliance team is responsible for the day to day risk mitigation, management and oversight of consumer protection laws that apply to Imprint’s products and services
- Develop and maintain a risk based Compliance monitoring and testing framework that covers all aspects of the credit card program, including but not limited to key regulations such as Regulation Z, Regulation E, Regulation B, Regulation P/GLBA, Regulation V, SCRA/MLA and UDAAP
- Develop and maintain monitoring and testing as it relates to Imprint’s partnerships programs, including but not limited to the sales, marketing and fulfillment of such programs
- Create monitoring and testing scopes and programs, in collaboration with the Chief Compliance officer and the Company’s process owner, as applicable.
- Create and implement a strategic plan to move the monitoring and testing function to a full audit automation environment, where applicable
- Report monitoring and testing observations to Imprint’s internal management team and the board of directors, where applicable
- Lead the Company’s Issue Management program, including the tracking, trending, reporting and remediation of key issues, reporting out to Imprint’s internal management team and the board of directors, as applicable
- Responsible for the oversight of the Company’s complaint management program, including regulatory complaint responses, tracking, trending and remediation of key trends
- Act as the key point of contact for all external audits, including third party audits required by the bank partner
- Assist Chief Compliance officer with the oversight of the Company’s Compliance Management system
Our take
These days, all sorts of cards abound, from virtual cards to co-branded credit cards. Imprint aims to stand out in the increasingly crowded space by partnering with businesses to provide branded rewards cards for customers.
While there has been an increase in the number of companies offering branded financial products to reduce costs, Imprint sees its card programs as offering a new platform for deepening customer relationships: less of the nastiness of credit and a much greater focus on rewards.
The startup is focusing on refining its embedded finance solution to fulfil its vision of an Apple-pay like experience for merchants and consumers.
Imprint will hope that its lightweight service, fit for smaller customers like hotel chains, will allow it to compete with the major venture-backed players in the space like Cardless, Apto and Alviere. And its $75M in venture capital raised in 2023 is going some way towards achieving these aims.
