Role
Who you are
- You are an experienced operations leader experienced in managing high performing teams. You may or may not be from an installation background, but you have a track record of cutting through noise and aligning your team on simple and effective process for getting the job done.
- Engineering mindset: you can think like an engineer when it comes to overcoming the challenges of installing and managing a portfolio of energy hardware
- Relationship builder: You have an natural bias towards building strong relationships, which you’ll deploy to build a strong network in the home decarb industry
- Automation specialist: You will have an intuition for solving operational problems with automation and AI deployment, and will be adept at deploying low-code solutions as well as collaborating effectively with product & tech teams
- Credible, senior communicator: You can clearly and persuasively articulate complex ideas to founders and leaders, junior team members and customers alike
- Commercial thinker: you can back up your operational decisions with carefully considered commercial rationale
Desirable
- The ideal candidate would have 6+ years experience in operations roles in a high growth startup environment or in the electrical installation industry, including at least 2+ years at manager-level

What the job involves
- Own our installation operation end-to-end: you will manage the technical in-house stages of the Sunsave installation journey, owning the entire Technical function within the Operations team. You will manage the Regional Technical Managers, who will support you by owning relationships with subcontractors along with training of the junior Technical Associates
- Own the installation KPIs: you will be responsible for key metrics such as install lead time and first-time-fit %
- Find simple solutions for complex technical challenges: you will cut through the noise and complexity that arises from the world of solar & battery installations. You will take a product mindset to problems, defining requirements for in-house tech resource and building out no-code solutions in our project management and CRM software
- Support product strategy: you will be a key input to hardware & installation product strategy, staying abreast of key solar & battery hardware developments to ensure our kit meets our objectives across Sunsave’s growing product range
- Own the installation cost line: take responsibility for the cost lines in your area (in-house technical process, external labour and hardware component costs) and continually look for ways to bring these down. You will build out our logistics processes to ensure smooth delivery of kit for direct-to-site deliveries

Sunsave, founded in 2022, is on a mission to make the power of solar accessible to every household in the UK. They're the first (and as of 2025 the only) company in the UK to offer an FCA-authorised solar subscription service - a model that's been very successful in places like Germany and the US.
70% of people in the UK are interested in solar, and Sunsave's model removes the biggest barrier to adoption - the ~£10k typical upfront cost and long payback period - so customers can save on their energy bills from day one. They offer an all-in-one subscription that includes finance, installation, monitoring and maintenance, really helping customers get the most out of their systems
Already, the company has attracted the attention of blue-chip VC funds such as Norrsken, IPGL, the UK Department of Energy, and household name entrepreneurs, including Michael Spencer and Stuart Rose. Alongside this, they raised a £13M Series A in July 2025, alongside a £100M debt facility to scale their subscription model.
They plan to also expand into complementary products like EV chargers and heat pumps, alongside tariff optimisation and energy insight software. The eventual aim is to build the company's first decentralised home energy platform and revolutionise households' relationship with energy.
