What the job involves
- You'll work closely with a cross-functional team, learning from experienced professionals while diving deep into the minds of our users
- Your goal will be to help create beautiful and engaging products that make a real impact
- In this role, you'll gain an in-depth understanding of how our customers discover, evaluate, and order food for work
- By conducting both qualitative and quantitative research, you'll identify ways to improve the customer experience and ensure successful ordering
- You'll be an integral part of the ezCater Research team, collaborating with Customer Insights Researchers, UX Researchers, and various cross-functional stakeholders across our Growth and Technology departments
- You'll regularly share your insights and "aha!" moments with your partners, contributing to discussions on how to elevate the customer experience to the next level
- Learn about our users, product, and market
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research (e.g. evaluative user testing, competitive reviews, surveys, user interviews, etc.) to improve ezCater products and/or marketing
- Work closely with a full-time researcher on study design, execution, and analysis
- Present relevant insights to a variety of stakeholders and partners
- Make recommendations on product requirements, design decisions, user experience, and/or marketing messages
- Collaborate with other members of the Research team and our internal partners (Product, Analytics, Design, Marketing, and/or Sales)
- Participate in multidisciplinary brainstorms, working sessions, and other collaborative discussions
- Remote-hybrid work from our awesome Boston office OR your home OR a mixture of both home and office

Our take
ezCater is an online marketplace app that provides catering options for businesses, working with food providers who enter their menus onto the app for customers to browse. ezCater sends each store its orders and handles customer service while the food providers fulfil the orders.
ezCater profits by charging a small commission on all orders that restaurants fulfil. The company counts JLL, RingCentral and the San Francisco 49ers among its customers. It previously fuelled expansion through acquisitions such as online catering platform GoCater in 2018 and MonkeySoft Solutions in 2019.
ezCater has enjoyed strong growth so far, in part by focusing on meal deliveries to a growing hybrid workforce as an employee benefit. It has been eyeing an IPO for some time, though these plans are yet to come to fruition. In the meantime, it has continued to develop its technology and unveiled a new supplier diversity program to uplift small businesses owned by underrepresented groups.
