Role
Who you are
- The ideal candidate will have strong skills in photography, video production, and editing, with a foundational understanding of writing and storytelling (writing skills are a plus but not required)
- Proficiency in photography and videography, including experience with DSLR cameras and lighting equipment
- Advanced video editing skills using tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent software
- Knowledge of basic photo editing tools like Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom
- Ability to conceptualize and execute creative ideas for multimedia content
- Expert understanding of social media platforms, trends, and platform-specific best practices
- Strong organizational skills and ability to project manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
- A portfolio showcasing photography and videography work is required
- A proactive, collaborative, and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving
Desirable
- Basic writing and storytelling skills to collaborate with the content team effectively
- Familiarity with social media content trends and platform-specific best practices
- Experience with motion graphics or animation tools (e.g., After Effects) is a bonus
What the job involves
- Mixbook is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Content Producer to join our Brand & Creative Marketing team
- In this role, you will play a key part in supporting our content marketing efforts by producing high-quality branded visual and multimedia content that connects with our audiences on an emotional level
- You’ll work closely with our Content Marketing Manager and SEO Marketing Manager to create compelling content that engages our audience and aligns with our brand goals
- Photography & Videography:
- Plan, shoot, and edit professional-quality photos and videos for a variety of platforms, including web, social media, and marketing campaigns
- Capture product shots and create lifestyle content that aligns with our brand’s visual identity
- Video Creation and Editing:
- Create, edit and produce engaging video content, including short-form and long-form videos (e.g. webinars and tutorials), optimized for different platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok
- Incorporate graphics, text overlays, and other enhancements to create polished final products
- Content Production:
- Collaborate with the Content and SEO teams to develop and executive multimedia content strategies that resonate with our audience segments
- Repurpose video and photo assets into content that supports various marketing goals (e.g., blogs, campaigns, email, social posts)
- Brand Alignment:
- Ensure all visual content adheres to brand guidelines, maintaining consistency across platforms and channels
- Creative Collaboration:
- Work with the marketing team to conceptualize ideas for visually driven campaigns
- Provide creative input during planning and production phases to optimize content quality and engagement
Our take
Since 2006, Mixbook has been offering customers the ability to create photo-customized products online. They offer the familiar array of cards, photobooks, and prints, but what is unique is that they have been one of the most persistently high-ranking companies for this service over recent years.
The market is a fairly crowded one, with long-standing competitors like Shutterfly being joined by startups like Popsa and Sokbook. But it remains a lucrative one: reports suggest that the rise of digital photography is accompanied by a greater value being placed on creating physical records of these images. Whilst Mixbook is sticking to a fairly traditional selection of products, the company is enriching its offerings through celebrity collaborations and MIxbook Movies - an engaging video format for its photography offering. This is drilling deeper into event-specific categories like birth announcements and wedding photography.
This steadfast approach to more traditional products has likely protected Mixbook from any fluctuations in the way images are stored and shared online. This will put the company in good stead to take a dependable slice of the growing personalised gifts market, which is expected to approach $40 billion by 2027.
