Who you are
- 8+ years of experience as a leader in FP&A, preferably within the FinTech industry with strong understanding of credit card and payments
- Strong understanding of financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting principles
- Expertise in financial analysis, including variance analysis, scenario planning, and risk assessment
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels
- Deep analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive and results-oriented approach
- Proficient in financial modeling software (e.g., Excel) and ideally familiar with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; an MBA is a plus
What the job involves
- The Finance Team is responsible for executing Imprint’s financial strategy and empowering teams with insightful analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and operational rigor
- We work closely with our leaders, investors, Bank Partners, and merchant partners to execute company strategy and build financial discipline as we scale through our next stage of hyper-growth
- As the Head of FP&A, you'll be responsible for building and leading a high-performing team, driving strategic financial planning and analysis, and providing deep financial insights to empower informed decision-making across the organization
- The role will also be responsible for analyzing and synthesizing financial data to create a compelling story around the company's performance for key stakeholders, including the Board of Directors
- This narrative should communicate financial health, highlight areas of success, identify growth opportunities, and identify risks
- Lead and manage the FP&A team, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement
- Develop and implement a comprehensive FP&A strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives
- Oversee the financial planning process, including the creation of accurate and insightful budgets and forecasts
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis, identifying trends, variances, and key drivers of performance
- Partner with business unit leaders to translate financial data into actionable insights that inform strategic decision-making
- Manage risk assessment processes and develop mitigation strategies
- Prepare insightful financial reports and presentations for senior management and the Board of Directors
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities to optimize FP&A processes and leverage data analytics for a competitive advantage
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, including accounting, operations, and product development
Our take
These days, all sorts of cards abound, from virtual cards to co-branded credit cards. Imprint aims to stand out in the increasingly crowded space by partnering with businesses to provide branded rewards cards for customers.
While there has been an increase in the number of companies offering branded financial products to reduce costs, Imprint sees its card programs as offering a new platform for deepening customer relationships: less of the nastiness of credit and a much greater focus on rewards.
The startup is focusing on refining its embedded finance solution to fulfil its vision of an Apple-pay like experience for merchants and consumers.
Imprint will hope that its lightweight service, fit for smaller customers like hotel chains, will allow it to compete with the major venture-backed players in the space like Cardless, Apto and Alviere. And its $75M in venture capital raised in 2023 is going some way towards achieving these aims.
