What the job involves
- As a Finance Business Partner you will play a critical role in providing financial analysis, insights and guidance to support business growth and profitability
- Your primary focus will be on partnering with various business units, understanding their operations, and delivering financial reporting on business performance
- You will deliver effective commercial procedures to ensure key operational, commercial and financial targets are delivered
- You will be responsible for collating and analysing financial data, identifying trends and developing actionable recommendations to drive performance and add value
- Production of monthly management report, including provision of commentary on results for designated business partners
- The ability to report on performance, identifying exceptions and explaining key variances, providing insights into potential risks for the business
- Build effective working relationships with key stakeholders across the business, supporting the business in partner performance management
- Develop an expert knowledge of all relevant systems within the business to enable effective reporting
- Support billing data & practices, working with internal stakeholders to monitor effective billing on an ongoing basis
- Track and analyse data for all workstreams in order to monitor compliance with contracts, as well as billing and payments
- Support in the internal and external audit where necessary
- Deliver all other ad hoc reporting requirements in support of business initiatives

Our take
For the UK to progress towards net zero, it needs to dramatically increase the use of renewable and low carbon energy sources. Egg is a company helping businesses, public-sector organisations and consumers to make this transition and reduce their carbon emissions.
Getting businesses to adopt low-carbon energy is paramount, as they represent the biggest energy-consumers, which is why the company has focussed on large-scale solutions like solar and electric vehicle systems for business customers. That said, it also delivers a home EV charging point on a subscription basis, which is a unique approach to encourage the switch to electric cars.
Launched in 2022, Egg is still relatively new on the scene, but it has nonetheless garnered a lot of attention and is growing fast. Its backing by Liberty Global Ventures gives it capital to play with, and it will be interesting to see what disruptions it delivers next.
