Who you are
- Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
- Strong Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) skills and ability to efficiently work with large volumes of data and pivot tables
- Organized and methodical with strong attention to detail
- Accounting major or equivalent
- Comfortable collaborating with and presenting to executives
- Demonstrated ability to be adaptive and inquisitive; natural problem solver
- Prefers to work independently with clear initial guidance/requests leveraging cross functional resources and teams
- Driven to deliver results with the ability to establish rapport, earn trust, and effectively collaborate with others

What the job involves
- Progyny is seeking an Accounting Intern who will support the team in completion of the accounting, preparing financial statements and reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
- This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial data and supporting the company's financial processes
- The internship begins June 2nd 2026, and culminates in a presentation to senior leadership
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and related footnotes, including Form 10-Q to be filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Maintain compliance with internal controls in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) requirements
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information
- Gain hands-on experience in corporate accounting within a publicly traded company
- Develop skills in financial analysis, reporting, SEC financial reporting, and SOX compliance
- Opportunity to work with experienced professionals and learn from industry experts
- Enhance understanding of financial processes and systems
