Role
Who you are
- Ideally (but not essential) native German speaker, based in Germany, to help run local marketing events
- Experience in B2B marketing and a fast-paced environment, preferably in a hyper-growth tech company
- Proactive in cross-functional collaboration, and stakeholder management
- Excellent communication and writing skills with a great eye for detail
- A natural interest in technology, understanding of open source software, and hopefully already part of the Matrix community
What the job involves
- The Product Marketing Manager will own Element’s product-related strategy, working closely with the Product and Engineering teams to create accurate, easy to understand sales and marketing collateral
- The role reports into the VP of Marketing
- Strategy; actively bridge Product, Sales, Engineering, Customer Success, and Marketing teams to create cohesive product strategies, launches and go-to-market (GTM) plans
- Content creation; ownership of developing all product-related collateral for different channels including webpages, product sheets, brochures, presentations, onboarding documents, blog posts, co-producing videos (storyboarding, not production) and webinars (organising, not hosting)
- Competitor analysis; lead market analysis programs turning competitive research and information into actionable insights, tables and content
- Analyst relations; lead relationships with analyst houses, identify opportunities with analysts and reports
- Events; identifying relevant industry events, handing sponsorship and co-ordinating our presence

Element emerged from the creators of Matrix with the goal of nurturing and financing the Matrix ecosystem, which established a groundbreaking standard for open-source decentralised communication.
Recognising the significance of instant messaging for productivity, especially exemplified by platforms like SDlck and WhatsApp, Matrix and Element identified an unmet need for secure network-based services. This approach allows companies to retain complete control over their data, distinguishing Element in the market.
Financial backing will be put towards expanding its technology and enhancing its peer-to-peer architecture. The ultimate aim is to eliminate the necessity for servers, with a specific focus on refining Element's decentralised voice and videoconferencing services. This allocation of resources positions Element to not only meet current market demands but also to pioneer innovative solutions in secure communication technology.
