Role
Who you are
- If you're a T-shaped engineer with hands-on AI expertise and a commitment to making a difference, we want you on our cross-functional team
- Have 6+ years of experience in software development
- Demonstrate experience and depth in building products through applying LLMs or other AI domains like NLP, ML or deep learning
- Can contribute full-stack, seeing LLM implementations from concept to production
- Are opinionated on approaches and solutions but humble to adapt and learn the right tools for the problem and team
- Have experience with HIPAA compliance or a willingness to learn

- Be a thought leader in AI technologies and trends to empower all team members
- Collaborate with product and clinical team members to understand the problems our providers and patients face
- Develop and lead our LLM platform offering to enhance all areas of our clinical offering
- Work with a small team of engineers to architect, build and maintain Summer Health
- Model and uphold high standards for an inclusive and diverse engineering team
Our take
Summer Health is a pediatric care company that enables parents to get answers about their child's health from an expert in 15 minutes. A welcome departure from symptom checkers, which are infamous for panicking parents rather than informing them, the company's subscription service supplies access to certified paediatricians who supply more personalised answers.
The service works via text, with advice available 24/7, and also allows users to start and request chats with specific experts. This makes it a great hub for both emergencies and wider questions. Its a worthwhile proposition, and Summer Health has attracted significant investment. Its 2024 round will support both the expansion of distribution channels and its service offerings.
