Company mission
To solve the complex challenges of database management and ensure security across the DevOps lifecycle.
Role
Who you are
- You don’t need to tick every box. We care more about how you communicate, learn and work with others than how many lines of code you write
- You expect to graduate in 2028 with a degree in a relevant subject, and you’re available for the full 10 weeks
- You enjoy software and like figuring out how things work
- You communicate clearly, ask questions, and share what you learn
- You enjoy working as part of a team, including giving and receiving feedback
What the job involves
- Paid internship, 10 weeks summer 2027
- Why this role exists: To give people heading into their final year of university the chance to spend summer 2027 as a full member of one of our product teams, building software that database professionals around the world rely on
- You’ll join a product team as a full member, working on the same things as everyone else, not on a side project in a corner
- You’ll work in a team that cares about craft, collaboration, and quality
- There’s real support to grow, with your own intern manager for feedback and a buddy for everything else, plus protected time every week to learn and develop skills
- For 10 weeks, you’ll work alongside our engineers on real software, shipping features that real customers use. You’ll be part of the day-to-day life of the team, with the support and room to learn what a first role in software deserves
- Pair with engineers, get your code reviewed (and review theirs), and take part in standups, planning and retros
- Work on the same things as everyone else, using the same tools, including AI tools like Claude
- Spend every Friday afternoon (10% of your time) on learning, whether that’s lightning talks, a community of practice or building something of your own
- Last year’s interns merged code in their first week, shipped a feature customers had been asking for, fixed a customer support issue, ran team standups and retros, gave a talk to the wider company, and learned C# and .NET on the job to build their own project.
- “I didn’t feel like an intern, I really felt like part of the team.” Kris Sananpanichkul, past software intern
Application process
- No cover letter needed. Just send your CV that includes:
- Education: your course and year of graduation
- Work experience: anything relevant, if you have it. It’s fine if you don’t
- Something you’re proud of: something you’ve built, fixed or figured out. It could be a uni project, a side project, a game mod, a Discord bot or a tricky bug. It all counts
- What you want from this: what you hope to learn or get out of the internship
- Your application will be reviewed by a person. We don’t use AI or automated tools to assess applications. Every profile is read by one of our Talent Partners
- You’ll hear back within a few days. Whether it’s a next step or a no, we aim to respond promptly so you’re not left waiting
Our take
As businesses become increasingly dependent on data, managing databases has become more complex. Companies need to move quickly while keeping systems secure and reliable. However, many still depend on manual processes and disconnected teams, making it harder to manage modern data infrastructure, especially as AI and cloud technologies continue to grow.
Redgate is helping companies tackle these challenges through database DevOps and lifecycle management tools. Its platform helps teams automate database changes, improve collaboration, and manage systems more efficiently and securely. Redgate, then, supports organisations throughout the full database development and deployment process.
More than 200,000 data professionals worldwide use Redgate's solutions too, signifying just how strong a position it has in the market. And with recent backing from Bregal Sagemount, the company plans to accelerate product innovation and expand even further so it can keep up with the ever-growing demand for secure, scalable data management.
