Who you are
- Ideal candidate will have 4+ years of direct selling experience in advertising sales with relevant OTT/CTV Video sales experience in a media organization
- Bachelor’s degree in a Business, Marketing, or related field
- Experienced and knowledgeable within the OTT and Connected TV industry
- Proven experience leading the full sales cycle with advanced campaign measurement and attribution
- Comprehensive knowledge of the programmatic buying and selling process
- Distinguished track record working for multi-media sales organizations
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Team player with the ability to lead projects from start to close
- Sophisticated client-facing skills; highly articulate and able to creatively position our value proposition. Able to simply and compellingly present complex marketing programs to clients
- Manage multiple projects with tight deadlines and operate efficiently within a relatively flat organization; communicate effectively with a range of executives, department teams and clients
- Ability to perform a high level even when faced with unexpected change; creative problem solver in dealing with difficult or unexpected challenges
- Data and analytic driven individual with a solid understanding of the OTT/CTV landscape, capabilities measurement who can solve problems
- A passion for the Streaming TV industry
- Advanced skills in Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
What the job involves
- The Account Executive will play a crucial role in driving Fubo’s advertising revenue across client direct, agency and trading desks within named accounts, verticals and/or geographic territories (West Coast)
- Identify, pitch and close programmatic, direct IO, and sponsorship deals with agencies, trading desks and direct clients
- Prepare and develop pitch materials and RFPs; be a subject matter expert on our product and platform offerings leveraging data and insights to support our unique value proposition
- Maintain positive client relations within an assigned book of business and territory with keen focus on new business development and account growth opportunities
- Leverage CRM tools to grow sales pipelines, capture all account activity in Salesforce and prepare IOs for approvals prior to campaign flighting
- Provide timely status reports to clients and agencies on campaign performance, delivery and resolve client inquiries in a timely manner that moves the business forward
- Works collaboratively with Ad Operations, Insights, Marketing and Yield teams to drive ad revenue and campaign success
Our take
Fubo is a live sports streaming service that operates in the United States, Canada, France and Spain. It differentiates itself from other sports braodcasters as sitting at the intersection between traditional cable and streaming, positioning itself as a must-have media provider for sports fans, with an internally-built tech stack allowing for instant replays and live interaction with sporting events.
While its core offering has always been in sports, Fubo built up a strong entertainment service, carrying content from numerous other networks and studios. Following its 2020 IPO its stocks rose sharply as a serious contender against older streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu. By the end of 2022 it had an audience of 1.5 million North American subscribers and over $1 billion in annual global revenue.
Despite its strong growth the company has entered a difficult period. Beginning to lose the market share it had taken from its competitors, it is also reducing its entertainment services and withdrawing from the sports betting market with knock-on effects for its share prices. While still a popular service (research from TVision shows ads on Fubo Captured 35% More Attention Than Ads on CTV in General), it remains to be seen if sports fans (and investors) will stay with Fubo in the longer term, especially if it can't thread the needle of profitability in an environment of rising costs and intense competition.
