Role
Who you are
- 5+ years in private equity, independent sponsor, investment banking, or corporate development with multiple closed transactions (ideally including at least one or two roll-up or multi-site integration)
- Strong financial modeling and underwriting skills; comfort with debt financing and definitive documents
- Healthcare services familiarity and working knowledge of HIPAA/BAA constructs; contact center exposure a plus
- Excellent executive communication (written and verbal) and stakeholder management
Desirable
- Prior exposure to contact centers or outsourced clinical operations (triage, patient access, scheduling)
- Experience with TSAs, carve-outs, and cross-border tuck-ins
- Familiarity with AI/automation in service operations (QA, WFM, routing, agent assist)
- Network among lower-middle-market sponsors, bankers, and lenders in healthcare services
What the job involves
- We are hiring a VP, M&A to be a core member of HAI’s corporate development team. You will source, conduct due diligence, evaluate, and execute acquisitions across healthcare services and tech-enabled services
- Near-term priorities include a roll-up strategy (patient access, triage, after-hours, scheduling), but the role will also work on partnerships, and selective divestitures/ JVs/ Carveouts as our strategy evolves
- Build segmented market maps and target lists across priority verticals; maintain a proactive pipeline and CRM
- Develop investment theses and business cases (market sizing, positioning, synergy logic, execution risks)
- Cultivate relationships with founders, bankers, brokers, PE funds, and lenders
- Lead cross-functional diligence (commercial, financial, legal, HR, tech/security, and—where applicable—clinical ops)
- Own models and investment materials: LBO/roll-up cases, purchase price bridge with WC peg & debt-like items, sources & uses tie-out, synergy cases/ramps, downside scenarios, and NPV/IRR
- Partner with external advisors (QoE, legal, tax, insurance/RWI) and financing sources
- Run end-to-end processes from IOI/LOI through close; drive workstreams, data rooms, and redlines
- Stand up pragmatic Day-1/30/100 integration plans; coordinate TSAs and change management
- Track value-creation levers (revenue expansion, SG&A optimization, WFM, vendor consolidation) and report results
- Establish KPI dashboards and cadence for post-close performance (financial and operational)
- Manage risk registers and mitigation plans
- Mentor analysts/associates; instill high-bar deal hygiene and documentation standards

The healthcare system is under increasing pressure to improve performance and patient outcomes, while battling inefficient operations and an ongoing staff shortage. Hippocratic AI hopes to help the industry address these issues, by supplying LLM-powered healthcare agents.
Hippocratic's agents can be employed in a number of scenarios, for example follow-ups with discharged patients, health risk assessments, or pre-op chats. Rather than delivering one conversational agent, the company has specified models that deal with different conditions - just one part of its safety-focussed approach.
By taking measures such as getting real nurses to assess its AI, Hippocratic solidifies this commitment to safety. And it's seen significant investments which its using to further fund safety tests as well as develop its product. Most recently, it has partnered with EUCALIA to bring generative AI to Japan, putting the company on a good growth trajectory.
