Who you are
- Experience developing production SDKs or developer-facing libraries, ideally across both native mobile and server-side environments
- Broad technical range across multiple programming languages, runtimes, and application platforms
- Experience leading teams responsible for developer infrastructure, distributed systems, or other business-critical production software
- A strong understanding of API and SDK design, including ergonomics, backward compatibility, performance, release management, and safe adoption
- Experience building highly available, low-latency systems where failures can directly affect customers’ end-user experiences
- A generalist mindset: you enjoy learning new technologies, moving between layers of the stack, and making sound decisions without needing to specialize narrowly in a single domain
- The ability to connect infrastructure architecture, developer experience, and customer needs into a coherent technical roadmap
What the job involves
- We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Delivery and SDK team within Statsig at Amplitude
- This team builds the systems that connect developers to Statsig and safely deliver product experiences to end users around the world
- The team owns two foundational areas:
- Delivery: The globally distributed systems that evaluate Experiments and Feature Gates and deliver the resulting experiences to end users. These systems sit directly in the critical path of our customers’ applications, making availability, scale, correctness, and latency essential
- SDKs: More than 30 SDKs spanning web, mobile, server, edge, TV, gaming, and emerging platforms. Our goal is to meet developers wherever they build and give them an ergonomic, reliable way to integrate Statsig into any application or technology stack
- This is a uniquely broad technical leadership role. You’ll work across distributed systems, mobile platforms, server runtimes, edge environments, and developer tooling—sometimes all in the same week
- We’re looking for a hands-on, technically versatile leader who enjoys moving between technologies, learning unfamiliar systems, and solving problems across abstraction boundaries
- You don’t need to be the world’s foremost expert in a single language or platform
- You do need the curiosity and technical judgment to work effectively across many of them—and the ability to build a team that can make a complex, polyglot ecosystem feel simple and dependable to developers
- Lead and grow the team responsible for Statsig’s global delivery infrastructure and ecosystem of 30+ SDKs
- Define the technical strategy for highly available, low-latency evaluation and delivery systems operating at global scale
- Make Statsig exceptionally easy to adopt by continuously improving SDK ergonomics, performance, reliability, consistency, and documentation
- Expand our SDK coverage as new languages, frameworks, runtimes, and computing platforms emerge
- Establish shared architecture and quality standards across a large polyglot codebase while preserving the conventions and strengths of each platform
- Partner closely with product, infrastructure, and customer-facing teams to solve complex integration challenges and shape the future of Statsig’s developer platform
- Why This Role Matters:
- Statsig’s value is realized only when developers can integrate it easily and confidently deliver experiences to their users. The SDKs must feel native to every platform, while the delivery systems behind them must remain fast, correct, and available at enormous scale
- This leader will bring those two responsibilities together. You’ll help make sophisticated experimentation and feature delivery infrastructure feel remarkably simple to developers—whether they are building a mobile app, backend service, edge worker, game, television application, or something that does not exist yet
Our take
Amplitude provides product analytics to help companies understand user behaviour. Product, marketing, and growth teams use Amplitude to discover and share insights about user engagement, retention, and revenue.
Amplitude’s user flows reveal which actions are the most commonly taken after users sign up, and which usually precede purchases made in-app, creating paths through the app. The behaviour of individual app users can be viewed with unlimited real-time activity feeds and user timelines.
Thousands of companies use Amplitude analytics, including Microsoft, Under Armour, Intuit, Twitter, Bonobos, Peloton, and many more. In 2024, a securities fraud case was filed against Amplitude due to an IPO and stock share rise that was alleged to be artificially inflated before their downturn in 2022. The case has since been resolved, and Amplitude continues to release new products and operate at full capacity.
