Role
Who you are
- We are looking for someone with 2-3 years of working experience, ideally already familiar with M&A and finance, for example, investment banking analyst, a comparable corporate development role involving detailed knowledge of financial modelling and valuation
- Prior experience and understanding relating to the pharmaceutical, healthcare and information industries is a plus (though not necessary)
- This is an autonomous role requiring proactiveness and independent thinking; ability to handle multiple projects under pressure and focus on tactical execution of tasks
- Strategic problem-solving and decision making as well as strong analytical skills
- Superior written and verbal communication
- Software: Excel and PowerPoint
- This position will offer the right candidate with the chance to work with an experienced team of professionals who are willing to offer increasing levels of responsibility based on performance
What the job involves
- Within this role you will Manage IQVIA M&A efforts through pipeline evaluation, modeling, valuation, due diligence, negotiation and closing activities
- Build and refine complex financial models for company valuation purposes
- Perform ad-hoc financial analyses for a range of strategic and M&A initiatives
- Analyze and interpret financial statements and clearly convey conclusions and insights
- Perform market research, develop strategic initiatives and build business cases
- Work with IQVIA senior executives and colleagues, target company management teams and external advisors on a regular basis
- Oversee and maintain deal pipeline, track market M&A activity, prepare internal updates, and create deal review presentations for CFO, CEO and BOD
- Led global due diligence initiatives, managing collaboration across a 50+ member international team
- Assist in closing activities
- Liaises with other departments and business units in an efficient, friendly and courteous manner

IQVIA is a world leader in analytics and clinical research in the life sciences sector. Formed from a merger between IMS Health and Quintiles, it has over 40 years of experience in the sector and has grown to become one of the world’s largest contract research organisations, with a network spanning more than 100 countries.
Since its founding, IQVIA has outperformed the market, with is main concerns being in the expansion of biosimilar firms such as Humira which are able to provide generic drugs from existing medications, without needing further data analysis. However IQVIA’s involvement in new areas of research are likely to more than offset this trend.
With global medicine spend on track to reach £1.3 trillion by 2025, IQVIA is focusing its efforts on oncology and immunology, the most profitable sectors in pharmaceutical development. It is also building out its technological infrastructure, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence. While it is frank about the limitations of this technology within the sector, it is able to greatly augment the data-handling capabilities of health science teams. Development in this sector is key to IQVIA’s growth plans for 2025 and beyond, which is on track with 2023-24 seeing a massive increase in company share value.
