• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field
• 5+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or Software Engineer in data-rich organizations
• 3+ years specifically in data engineering, with experience leading data architecture discussions and technical decision-making
• Experience with a major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP), ideally with some exposure to Infrastructure as Code or remote configuration tools
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift), transformation tools like dbt, and distributed data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark or Apache Flink
• Strong coding experience in Python/Scala and advanced SQL knowledge across relational and non-relational databases
• Maintain and optimize high-performance data pipelines with comprehensive CI/CD automation, implementing observability frameworks (metrics, logging, distributed tracing) and data quality gates to ensure pipeline freshness, accuracy, and completeness
• Experience leading technical architecture discussions and making strategic technology decisions
• Strong communication skills to effectively partner with stakeholders across the organization
• Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in team environments
