Our take
The acceleration of the mobile gaming industry has led to the widespread popularity of the casual gaming market. The ease of access, reduced expenses, and wide demographic of casual games mean that developers can generate significant returns through an easier development process. Socialpoint is one company that taps into this market, specializing in the development of mobile games.
The company differs from competitors in that it is one of the few developers to have seen a consistent track record of high revenue and hits on app stores. With multiple games hitting popularity heights, Socialpoint holds a rare position of strength within the market and recently hit a billion downloads for its mobile games too.
Acquisition of the company from Take-Two, a leading American game publisher, solidified the success of Socialpoint. Through this, the company has been able to truly tap into the core of the market by funnelling high returns into development pipelines that are projected to return similar successes.
