Who you are

You will share our passion for test-driven development, continuous integration and automation to produce frequent high-quality releases
3+ years of experience with one or more programming languages including Python, Go, Java, Javascript
Good understanding of application development, micro services architecture and successful elements of a multi-service ecosystem
Ability to coordinate cross-functional work towards task completion
Understanding of Agile methodologies is a plus
Past experience working on AWS or K8S
Good understanding of virtualization, dynamic provisioning, Docker, AWS and Linux
Experience in Kubernetes is a plus
B.S. Computer Science or equivalent

What the job involves

We are looking for a Senior Software engineer who is passionate about writing the tools to integrate and support to build large-scale, high-demand software in a fast-paced agile environment
You will get an opportunity to work in scaling our infrastructure to the next generation. Our scale is already huge in running tens of thousands of tests for every commit automatically. This comes with challenges in speed by reducing compute time from days to a few minutes
You will be part of the team that builds, maintains, and improves our highly-automated build, release and testing infrastructure
Scripting, tools-building, and automation are paramount to Okta Engineering; everybody automates. You will be creating and coding tools for internal use to support continuous delivery
Team up with Development, QA and Ops to continuously innovate and enhance our build and automation infrastructure
Collaborate with peers and stake-holders to create new tools/process/technology. We use the latest technology from AWS and you can experiment, recommend, and implement new technologies in our build and CI system
Work with internal customers to roll-out projects and process, monitor adoption, collect feedback, and fine-tune the project to respond to internal customers’ needs

Okta started off as an identity company where organisations, large and small, could tap into the company to have a single sign-on interface to access all cloud applications now centralised. Okta has since expanded to provide identity management at the device as well as the server level.

The new approach towards network security is increasingly based on identification and authentication, and Okta is on track to become the go-to vendor in the space. It aims to do so by developing products that enable people to access applications and other tools more smoothly and securely than ever before.

Okta has taken strides towards expansion through significant employee growth and shuffling executive leadership. The company has also made lateral moves such as tackling governance concerns, opening up new paths for revenue.
