Who you are
- 0-2 years of experience in sales, purchasing, or account management

What the job involves
- Reporting to GM Germany
- The Sales team’s role is to build a strong network of partners in order to purchase the most qualitative e-bikes across Germany at the best price
- You will play a key role in our sourcing strategy by building new partnerships and managing critical relationships with our hundreds of partners, ranging from retailers to manufacturers and leasing companies
- This role involves plenty of travel to meet with our partners across Germany
- Take full ownership of our B2B partnerships and buying targets in your region
- Build and manage a network of partners in your region: you will spend time on the road meeting bike shops, leasing companies and manufacturers
- Launch our trade-in software and manage our trade-in process in bike shops in your region
- Buy the most relevant e-bikes at the best price from retailers, leasing companies and manufacturers, using our pricing models and your negotiation skills
- You are one of the first Business developers in the team: you will design and improve our processes together with the General Manager
Our take
Upway is a second hand marketplace for electric bicycles. The company buys electric bikes from private customers as well as e-bike companies, and refurbishes them where necessary before selling them at anywhere between 20 - 50% less than the original price.
With the electric bike industry thriving in Europe and expected to double in value over the next decade, Upway is creating a clever niche for itself by selling bikes at much less than the market rate while alleviating fears about second hand quality.
Since launching in 2019, Upway has attracted the backing of Sequoia Capital, who famously invested in the likes of Google and Airbnb. This has enabled the company to expand beyond its native France into Belgium while steadily growing its team.
Having recently entered the lucrative German, Dutch and US markets, Upway is hoping to expand its market presence. As the demand for greener modes of transport is growing exponentially in urban centres around the world it seems very likely that Upway will continue its recent run of success.
