Principal Product Scientist, Headspace Health

• 7+ years of progressive experience in product science, experimentation, applied data science, or product analytics
• Deep expertise in statistical methods, experimentation design, and causal inference
• Demonstrated leadership and proven track record of building innovative personalization/recommendation systems or applied ML in consumer or enterprise products
• Strong product intuition with the ability to translate data into impactful product decisions
• Hands-on experience with SQL, Python/R, and experimentation platforms
• Background in product management or close partnership with PMs
• Advanced degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or related quantitative field
• Strong communication and effective collaboration; skilled in translating complex scientific insights into clear, actionable recommendations for executives and non-technical audiences

• This role partners closely with product managers, designers, analytics, scientists and engineers to shape product direction through advanced experimentation, personalization frameworks, and applied data science

• Ethical/Responsible AI: partner with ethics, data privacy partners to ensure personalization is inclusive and avoids bias
• Translate scientific insights into practical frameworks that improve customer engagement, retention, and monetization, influencing strategic roadmap initiatives and driving member outcomes
• Partner with product leadership to define hypotheses, prioritize experiments, and align scientific outcomes with business goals
• Bridge product management and data science by framing the right questions, interpreting complex results, and guiding strategic product bets, balancing speed, rigor and real-world results
