Role
Who you are
- 12+ years of Data Analytics or Business Intelligence that includes Consumer Analytics experience for a mobile application within a relevant industry
- Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Data Science, Business or a related field
- Expertise in SQL, Google Sheets, and Google Slides (or PowerPoint)
- Proficiency in Looker, Snowflake, Segment, Iterable, and Python
- Affinity for numbers, consumer insights, and applying data to inform strategy
- Experience establishing and building a Consumer Analytics team
- Willingness to work in a collaborative environment and build partnerships
What the job involves
- You'll lead our data-driven efforts to understand our consumers and improve engagement and retention
- You'll combine deep technical expertise, strategic vision, and storytelling capabilities to shape consumer analytics strategies and deliver compelling narratives from data
- As part of the Consumer Marketing Leadership Team, you'll report to the CMO and President, Consumer
- Leadership: Build a Consumer Analytics team, promoting a culture of collaboration and ideas rooted from data. Attract talent and manage a team
- Consumer Analytics Strategy: Create a long-term analytics roadmap that leads to sustainable growth and progress. Prioritize projects and ensure deadlines are met via delegation or direct engagement
- Consumer Analytics Acumen: Identify patterns, trends, and relationships within consumer data. Forecast consumer behaviors and outcomes. Provide recommendations to improve growth and retention
- Consumer Data Storytelling: Translate consumer data into visually compelling and easily understandable charts and graphs. Present compelling narratives that logically frame problems and potential solutions
- CA Technology Expertise: Gather, pivot and analyze consumer data. Use AI to automate

Our take
Loyalty systems, vouchers, and other special offers have a proven track record at winning over new customers for businesses. However customers can be reluctant to sign up due to the sheer number of these schemes. Upside exists to unify these loyalty schemes with a single flexible reward app.
While retail reward platforms are nothing new, Upside functions more like a marketplace, linking participating businesses to potential customers. It also rewards customers with cash back on eligible purchases, a more flexible reward than is traditional in loyalty schemes. With over 50,000 businesses enrolled and 30 million app users, Upside has grown into a major player in this sector.
Having secured investments in a 2022 round of equity funding, Upside expanded into mobile payments, growing its value to over $1.5 billion. Upside is moving to scale its operations by hiring additional talent and forming new partnerships with brands and businesses. As growing inflation impacts the cost of living, Upside's product will likely be increasingly appreciated by consumers and businesses who depend on their custom.
