Release Engineer, Kaluza

• Proven experience with CI/CD methodologies and tooling
• Proven experience in building and maintaining release pipelines and tooling, adhering to CI/CD best practices
• Excellent grasp of DevOps principles, including the practical application of DORA metrics
• Comprehensive understanding of the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), enabling effective communication, strong customer relations, and high-quality releases for both internal and external products

Desirable

• Reporting To: Software Engineering Manager
• Working within the Release Engineering team, you'll contribute across Kaluza's software development lifecycle
• Your focus will be on developing engineering solutions that enable our software teams to frequently deploy the highest quality code for our clients
• You will enhance engineering productivity by optimising testing, deploy and release processes for all Kaluza engineering teams
• Work with Engineering teams and QA teams to engineer high quality and usable tooling across the build, deploy and release pipeline
• Engineer a fully automated release pipeline which incorporated testing best practise and reduces toil for engineering teams
• Maintain and support Kaluza’s existing tooling across release, code repositories and centralised build and deploy tooling
• Our Tech Stack: TypeScript, GitHub Actions, AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Datadog, React, Python

• Initial call with our Talent Acquisition team (30 minutes)
• This short call is designed to tell you more about Kaluza and the specific team you’ll be joining, as well as to ensure that the role is the right fit for you
• First stage interview (1 hour minutes)
• This interview will be with a hiring manager from one of our engineering teams, this interview will cover both mindset and technical questions. We will also incorporate a 15 coding exercise, so have your screen ready to do some coding
• Final Interview Loop (3 hours)
• Three hours sounds like a long time, but we don’t expect all of these to be completed across one day, but we can support that if you so wish, the three sessions cover the following:
• Behavioural - We use behavioural interviews to understand how you collaborate, solve problems, and build value for customers through real-world examples
• System Design - Our system design interview explores how you approach complex, high-scale problems — from handling real-time data to building reliable, secure, and scalable systems
• Pairing - Our pairing interview focuses on problem-solving, clean code, and real-time collaboration — you'll work through a practical task with one of our engineers
