Role
Who you are
- 15+ years of relevant experience in system engineering, hardware design, and technical leadership roles for simulation, AR, VR, or related products in the defense, aerospace or related industries
- Proven expertise in system architecture design, with a strong emphasis on combined hardware/software systems and systems integration
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive decisions on complex technical issues and system trades
- Ability to perform system analysis to ensure subsystem specification, when all tied together, meet product requirements
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Advanced technical degree preferred
- Qualified candidates must have the ability to obtain a security clearance. This requires U.S. Citizenship
Desirable
- Experience with Sensors (camera, time-of-flight), image processing
- Experience with virtual reality or augmented reality hardware (Rift, VIVE, Gear VR, etc.)
- Experience working with government customers and understanding of defense industry standards and protocols
- Experience designing complex electromechanical systems, and successfully getting those systems certified for DoD use
- Solid understanding of requirements management tools such as Jama or DOORs
What the job involves
- The Chief Engineer will play a pivotal role in driving overall system architecture, primarily focusing on hardware with a complementary understanding of software
- As a deeply technical and cross-functional leader, the Chief Engineer will lead critical design decisions, conduct trade studies, and translate customer requirements into actionable system and subsystem specifications
- Moreover, the Chief Engineer will collaborate with government customers, guiding the development of internal technical roadmaps to meet evolving customer needs and ensure Red 6 remains at the forefront of innovation
