Role
Who you are
- The role will require top-notch attention to detail, superb organizational skills, a strong visual aesthetic and sense of strategic storytelling, as well as impeccable written and verbal communication skills
- The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a start-up environment, and can work well autonomously, but is ever present on and contributing to a team of multi-hyphenates covering development, production, licensing, and more
- This is a full-time, one-year contract, with the possibility of an exten
- 5+ years of relevant experience in social, content, marketing, and/or design, ideally at a studio, publisher, or streamer
- Experience with design tools like Photoshop
- An obsession with social media, internet content, and social marketing
- A passion for entertainment, a deep understanding of what works on social
- An eye for great content, both on-set and on-the-page
- Superb communication and diplomacy skills
- A calm, collected approach, even in challenging moments
- The ability to move seamlessly between projects as they demand
- Basic video editing experience (preferred)
What the job involves
- BuzzFeed Inc. is looking for a highly creative, versatile, jack-of-all-trades creative marketing executive in our Studio who will oversee branding, materials, and our creative campaigns that drive an audience for BuzzFeed Inc.’s suite of film, television, documentary, and audio projects
- In addition to leading strategy and creating assets in support of our projects’ releases, the Creative & Marketing Lead will be charged with innovating our approach to social marketing and upleveling our brand materials to exceed the expectations of our industry partners
- Reports to BuzzFeed Inc.’s VP of Marketing & Operations
- Lead marketing strategy and build innovative social campaigns to drive audience to BuzzFeed Studio’s suite of film, television, audio and video projects
- Independently manage the execution of these campaigns, including the creation/delivery of assets
- Be comfortable writing, directing, and shooting content that wows partners and talent, and be able to bring in additional resources as needed to bring campaigns to life (liaising with our production team, writers, and social video producers in doing so)
- Present campaigns details and performance updates to internal and external stakeholders
- Own decks and other brand materials coming out of BuzzFeed Studios, including development pitch decks, partnership proposals, marketing concepts, and more, to ensure our narrative is cohesive, visuals impeccable, and our brand is well represented
- Script and oversee the editing of strong sizzle reels that tell a cohesive narrative of our projects and our studio more broadly
- Partner with the VP of Marketing & Operations on creating key project marketing assets, including key art and trailers
- Capture social content on set during production, when needed
- Give effective feedback to writers and editors making content for the Studio
- Liaise regularly with editorial and social teams to understand trends and successful content frames
- Help manage the relationship with our PR reps to ensure project details are being shared
- Be comfortable working with high profile talent and other key external partners
- Be reliable and create a sense of trust on your team
