- The ideal candidate is a natural storyteller and diligent project manager who is comfortable operating at the tempo of a modern startup
- Experience as a first marketing hire / building a team in a dynamic environment
- 3+ years of experience in a B2B marketing role, especially in the tech or deep tech sectors, with a proven ability to generate demand, nurture leads, and build brand authority
- Strong experience developing messaging that resonates with business buyers, especially technical and non-technical stakeholders within organizations. You should know how to speak to C-level executives, product managers, engineers, and procurement teams

What the job involves
- As our Director of Marketing, you'll take ownership of a broad category of marketing, communications and branding objectives
- You’ll be joining our leadership team as the first marketing hire, so get ready to roll up your sleeves and personally execute new channel experiments, field marketing, demand gen and ABM when you join
- Roll up your sleeves as a generalist IC
- Switch between demand gen, digital marketing, PR coordination, web development and content creation, and everything in-between (we don’t expect you to ‘spike’ in all these areas, but know where to bring in help as needed)
- Communicate the company's vision and mission, translating complex technology concepts into a compelling narrative
- Own media relations and the public image of the company, serving as the intermediary between the public and the company's executive team
- Be responsible for generating new ideas for channels and content creation to enhance Xona’s brand, aggressively testing your theories, and scaling winners while cutting losers
- Stay up to date on market trends and what would capture user attention to drive Xona’s brand presence and positioning as a leader in our market
Our take
Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) is crucial for autonomy, tying vehicles to their environment and making autonomous operation possible. Xona Space Systems is developing a network of small satellites to provide high-precision PNT services, essential for modern technologies like autonomous vehicles and robotics.
The company has set its sites on pushing the limits of modern technology, setting itself apart in its space with its PULSAR service, which offers superior accuracy, availability, and security compared to traditional GPS. This makes it crucial for the widespread adoption of autonomous systems in unstructured environments.
The company has secured $270 million to date, its 2026 round being used to accelerate the deployment of its low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation. Its partnerships with the US Space Force and industry leaders highlight the growing confidence in its innovative approach, while future plans include the commercialisation of PULSAR, which will enable autonomous systems to operate effectively anywhere.
