  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to effectively communicate. Proven ability to communicate persuasively and to influence others, particularly amongst senior stakeholders
  • Analytical skills in EXCEL to review and analyse data. Proficient in MS Office: Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint
  • Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional and cross-channels marketing programs
  • Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment where not all processes and procedures are clearly defined. Agility to change directions quickly as needed
  • Experience developing cross-functional relationships with product, consumer research and marketing teams to develop strategy and consumer insights that drive compelling creative execution

Desirable

  • Experience using customer research, hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, generate forecasts, and assess the efficacy of marketing programs
  • Previous advertising or retail experience with respect to programs and processes
  • Proven ability to dive deep and identify root cause gaps and drive solutions that improve customer experience and drive business results
  • Passion for e-commerce and digital marketing and a track record of delivering outstanding results. An entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for having fun while delivering world-class products and programs

What the job involves

  • We are looking for a highly creative, results-oriented Marketing Manager to be a large cross-functional owner, defining marketing strategy and initiatives to overcome selling partners pain points related to advertising in 20+ locales we currently cover
  • In this role, you will be partnering with multiple WW product and marketing teams and are accountable for driving the overall marketing strategy to promote Amazon Ads solutions to SMB
  • You will define the marketing program, set objectives, analyse data and customer insights, drive improvements that are quantified with metrics, and influence and drive large initiatives.
  • The position is based in London but will interact with our local & global teams in Europe, MENA, LATAM, Asia, and North America
  • Create/own/execute campaign and content strategy calendar/plan that supports business objectives/goals and channel strategy, including channel strategy, testing plan, prioritization of initiatives
  • Partner with channel team to understand channel insights and best practices
  • Define targeting strategy based on identification of business objectives/goal
  • Audit existing content and identify gaps in content assets and ensure that customer facing content adhere to voice and style guidelines
  • Optimize marketing strategy (i.e. comparing results to benchmarks and looking for opportunities to optimize targeting, messaging and/or format/asset type)
  • Own analysis of campaign performance including marketing insights/callouts for WBR/MBR/QBR/Goals
  • Owns marketing strategy and drives alignment with stakeholders and drives functional alignment on executional timeline
  • Influence program reporting to measure marketing performance across KPIs
  • Influence end-to-end marketing journey with WW/Regional SMB marketing teams to improve customer experience

Amazon is the world's largest online retailer, and is well-known for its disruption of well-established industries. The company is present in numerous verticals, including cloud computing with Amazon Web Services, AI with its range of Alexa devices and a global marketplace more commonly referred to as 'the everything store'. Acquisitions include Ring, Twitch, Whole Foods Market, and IMDb.

More recently, Amazon has been focused on leading the "third wave in digital advertising". Many businesses are now shifting ad dollars to retailers, which before would have been spent with online media platforms. Amazon's seen great success in the space, with its revenue from advertising now higher than its Amazon Prime membership scheme, audiobooks and digital music combined. This growth is particularly impressive considering its digital ad rivals (like Snap, Alphabet, and Meta) have suffered declines due to wider macroeconomic factors and Apple's iOS privacy changes.

Despite its dominant market position, Amazon will continue to be challenged over the next decade, including sustaining AWS's cloud dominance in the face of Google and Microsoft. On top of this, the company's e-commerce division is facing profitability problems despite its 2023 post-IPO debt funding of 8 billion. It will need to find new ways to stay above their competitors.
