Who you are
- Demonstrated experience with some or all of the following: predictive modeling, statistics, experimental design, optimization, data visualization
- Understanding of marketing metrics and KPIs, with experience in campaign optimization, Lifetime Value (LTV) modeling, and incrementality analysis
- Proficiency in SQL and Python with hands-on experience in Redshift, Databricks, PySpark, and Airflow
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate ambiguous questions into data-driven insights
- Strong communication skills — you can explain complex data in simple, actionable terms
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts or experience in automating recurring analytics workflows is a plus
- A team player, you establish effective relationships to work with others for the win
- 3+ years of work experience in data analytics or data science roles
- BS in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Economics, or other quantitative field; Masters, MBA or PhD preferred
What the job involves
- As a Senior Data Analyst, you’ll be responsible for designing and driving high-impact analytics solutions, from developing advanced statistical frameworks to evaluate marketing performance, to building data pipelines that integrate third-party sources, to creating interactive tools that empower partner teams
- These are just a few examples of the initiatives you’ll help lead and deliver end-to-end, playing a key role in shaping the technical direction of our analytics efforts
- The demands on this team are constantly evolving with the needs of Socialpoint’s and Zynga’s dynamic marketing teams, so it is important that you be able to adapt and utilize your time efficiently
- Partner closely with marketing and cross-functional teams to identify growth opportunities, improve efficiency, and shape strategic initiatives
- Lead analytical deep dives to surface insights and translate them into actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders
- Visualize and communicate analytical findings clearly, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization
- Apply statistical methodologies to evaluate performance and account for uncertainties in major initiatives
- Proactively explore and prototype opportunities using AI-driven automation to streamline investigations and improve decision-making
Our take
Zynga is a games developer that rode Facebook's platform to success back in the late noughties and early 2010's. It is now one of the biggest casual game producers globally, with a presence across 175 countries and regions and over 80 million monthly active users.
Though the company hit a number of roadblocks after its initial success - such as falling stock prices, and numerous calls it was copying other games - its subsequent resurgence is proof of its staying power. It continues to use social media as a distribution channel, and boasts titles such as FarmVille, Merge Dragons! and Words With Friends.
Future success will lie in the company's continued investment in building viral games that people love. It will also need to attune to the social media waves and keep track of where users can be found, as the landscape has become more mobile. Notable recent activity includes a collaboration with BBC Earth ahead of 2024's Earth day, and grant to develop actionable push notifications that enable gameplay without entering the application.
