Role
Who you are
- 7+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience hiring for technical roles, with in-house experience from a consumer-facing web/mobile startup
- Experience sourcing and hiring passive talent, from entry-level to Senior Director
- Passion for diversity and inclusion, and experience working with aspirational top-of-funnel goals to increase the diversity of our pipeline
- Interest in developing processes and initiatives that improve recruiting
- An understanding of technology and the broad tech industry
- Passion for and interest in Patreon's mission
- Experience with applicant tracking systems (Ashby is preferred)
- Strong communication and analytical skills
What the job involves
- We’re continuing to invest heavily in building the best creator tools with the best team in the creator economy, and are looking for a Senior Technical Recruiter to support our mission
- This is a 6-month contract working from either our SF or NYC office on a hybrid basis
- Develop a diverse candidate pipeline for Product and Engineering, emphasizing inclusivity
- Manage applications, referrals, and passive candidate sourcing using innovative methods
- Lead the recruitment process end-to-end, from opening roles to closing candidates, ensuring a thorough and efficient approach
- Partner closely with hiring teams to understand needs and create positive experiences for interviewers and candidates
- Facilitate interview debriefs and decision-making, providing trusted guidance
- Report on recruiting metrics to inform strategies and maintain data integrity
- Collaborate with HR for smooth onboarding and support with US-based tasks
Our take
Creatives face two major struggles in the online space: getting eyes (or ears) on their work, and getting paid for it. Patreon was founded to solve both problems with a platform that would provide a space for creators to host and promote their work, and offer supporters a way to show their support through a regular paid subscription.
Patreon has been a leader in the content subscription space since its founding, but recently has come under pressure from newer rivals such as Substack and Ko-fi. It has maintained its position by shifting its focus from being primarily a marketplace for supporters to find creatives that interest them to being a toolbox for content creators to promote their work. While the site's creatives value this approach it remains to be seen whether Patreon will be able to return to the growth it was enjoying in previous years.
Despite the inroads made by competitors and a troubling global economic outlook making finances tougher for content creators and their supporters, Patreon is still a leader in its space, with over 250,000 active creators having made $3.5B through the platform.
