Role
Who you are
- 5 years experience in inside sales focused on SMB owners, preferably at a Fintech or SaaS company; top 25% performance is a must, experience selling to accounting firms a nice-to-have
- Genuine excitement to help SMBs succeed
- Excellent pitch and presentation skills
- Strong listening skills and ability to quickly distill key opportunities to drive forward a sales conversation
- Attention to detail at note-taking and pipeline management
- Familiarity with sales tech such as Salesforce and Outreach
- Ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment, especially as we iterate on sales funnels, technique, and playbook to constantly improve the model
- Strong internal drive. Must be self-motivated to keep coming back after setbacks
- Bachelor’s Degree required
What the job involves
- Bluevine is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Account Executive to scale referrals from our large network of Accountant and Bookkeeping partners
- As the Account Executive, Accountant Partnerships, you’ll generate revenue for the company by helping accounting firms see how Bluevine’s cutting-edge banking solution can benefit their small business clients, and by energizing firms to recommend Bluevine to more of their clients
- You will onboard and motivate firms to refer through an effective and consultative sales process
- You will multiply your impact by continuing to drive referrals from your growing book of onboarded partners
- You will translate your front-line learnings into how Bluevine can better win with accountants and their clients
- With tenacity, creativity, and a strategic approach, you will help develop a winning playbook for our partner channel sales efforts
- This role is for you if you thrive in a fast-paced sales environment and are driven to constantly grow and perform better
- Conduct high-velocity sales outreach to owners of accounting firms and energize them to refer their clients to Bluevine
- Pitch firms on Bluevine and the Accountant Partner Program
- Build rapport, conduct discovery, and identify pain points of firms and their clients
- Conduct demos of the Accountant Dashboard and Bluevine product
- Cultivate relationships and manage an opportunity pipeline of previously-won firms
- Meticulously prioritize sales effort and double-down on the things that work
- Understand partner segments and develop effective approaches for different types of accounting firms
- Ask for and track feedback, engage deeply to understand, and help make Bluevine better for accounting firms and their clients
- Read-out results and key insights to Bluevine’s executive leadership and contribute to shaping sales playbook development
Our take
Founded in 2013, BlueVine offers a suite of banking services for small and medium businesses (SMBs). BlueVine began as a small business lender, and have since expanded into a small business banking service in late 2020.
Having already loaned billions of dollars with tens of thousands of active customers, BlueVine aims to be the largest bank in the United States for small businesses. While there are over 4,000 banks in the US which are theoretically rivals in this ambition, few of them target the SME market or provide a comprehensive range of financial services to meet their needs.
In 2021 BlueVine appointed Steve Allocca (PayPal, LendingClub, Wells Fargo) as COO. As a small business owner himself, and having worked on SMB-oriented projects at PayPal, his appointment is a smart move as BlueVine moves to net the flurry of new SMBs opening. The company is currently focused on developing its financing products and increasing the range of services available to its customers.
