  • Entrepreneurial disposition and understand how to operate with limited resources within a growth-stage organization. You don’t shy away from deck work and when there’s no one to hand something off to, you do it
  • Acute sense of ownership over an outcome that requires many inputs and collaborators
  • Passionate about winning when no one expects you to do so
  • 10+ years experience in business development, account management and / or sales
  • Clear track record of 7-to-8-figure sales success with examples relevant to the music industry
  • Confident speaking to clients and understand how to progress conversations towards a mutually beneficial reality
  • Proficient in google suite (slides, sheets, docs), pipeline management software (Hubspot, Monday)

  • Creative agency/production, media or music industry experience
  • Experience at a founder-led company

What the job involves

  • You will drive the Brand Partnerships revenue, sourced from largely new, but also key existing partners, to monetize the core products of UnitedMasters. This role is responsible for pipeline generation, proactive sales strategy, and contributing to a high close rate.
  • A hunter with the tact of a farmer, this role significantly increases the revenue potential of the Brand Partnerships team.
  • An ideal candidate will quickly learn the UnitedMasters, Inc positioning, ways of working (including scalable go-to-market packaging and product-led bespoke creative development), and how we effectively and efficiently attack revenue opportunities
  • Successfully achieve revenue targets by building a new book of business and developing outsized growth from key existing accounts
  • Fully encapsulate the UnitedMasters brand as one of our spokespeople, presenting our company with professionalism, cultural awareness, visionary ambition and clarity in paths to partnership
  • Be outside more than inside with a robust meeting schedule
  • Attend industry events and conferences as necessary to move the business forward
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities at various stages with diversity in deal types and budget levels
  • Track and report on progress and success to Sales Leadership
  • Evaluate, solicit, and follow-up with targets through multiple sales, communications, and marketing methods (eg, tapping network of existing brand CMO/Marketing contacts, cold calling and outbound communications virtual/in-person conference attendance, presentations, etc.)
  • Feedback to internal teams to execute sales touchpoints to generate and maintain marketplace awareness and relevance
  • Coach and collaborate with peers and colleagues to uplevel the team’s capabilities
  • Capture prospect and market needs & trends to consult with executive leadership and internal teams for solution development
  • Work closely with the internal teams to ensure proper client details are available and outstanding questions are answered
  • Bring an hustle mindset towards pushing the UnitedMasters’ Brand Partnerships division into a high-paced growth stage
  • Be a source of motivation and clear direction while creating space for those on the team to do their very best work

Music distribution services provide ways for musical artists to release their music in both digital and physical formats. However, musicians usually don't retain the often lucrative rights to audio masters and audience insights, and merchandising and concert tickets must be organised elsewhere.

UnitedMasters is a music distribution service that acts as a direct pipeline for musicians and their commercial efforts. The service allows users to retain the rights to audio masters and audience data, in addition to providing a platform for the sale of merchandise and concert tickets. The startup’s aim is to give artists full control over the monetisation of their music based on a regular subscription cost.

UnitedMasters has raised a large amount of funding from investors such as Apple, a16z and Alphabet, and has partnered with companies such as Bose, TikTok, and Twitch. These partnerships along with continued innovation make it possible for artists to access large record deals through their music, a feature not offered by many other music distribution services.
