Who you are

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience
5+ years of software development experience
Expertise in one of the following programming languages: TypeScript, JavaScript, Kotlin, Java, Go

What the job involves

As a software engineer on the Trust Experience Platform, you will develop full-stack components and APIs that support identity verification, fraud prevention, and authentication systems
You will become a product expert and have the opportunity to influence key decisions that shape the charters you work in
You will build features that hundreds of thousands of customers interact with every single day
Your day to day work will have a direct impact on our customers and business
You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager in Vancouver
Build durable domain knowledge that will benefit you for the rest of your career
Design and implement solutions to tricky problems across multiple domains
Partner autonomously with program and product leaders
Have a large scope of ownership in a fundamental domain
Learn what it takes to build something new from the ground up
Lead technical discussions, provide mentorship to junior engineers, and advocate for best practices in coding, testing, and system design
Identify and resolve technical challenges, improving system performance, reliability, and maintainability
Contribute to the evolution of the Trust Platform

Our take

Since its inception in 2011 Remitly has focussed on helping immigrants to send money across the world faster, cheaper and easier. The company has grown exponentially since then and now operates across multiple continents. Remitly put down most of its success on putting its customers first.

The emergence of digital banks with low transaction fees cross-country has increased competition in a space where Remitly was dominant for many years. The company must continue to innovate its product to ensure it is the go-to place for these types of payments.

However, Remitly continues to partner with exciting companies and improve their service for loyal customers. The company is setting its sights beyond its core remittance service, such as through the recent introduction of Passbook, an app that allows customers to access digital banking through a partner bank.
