Who you are

- Startup Experience: Prior experience working at a seed or Series A startup, where you’ve been comfortable operating in a fast-moving, dynamic environment
- SDR and/or Sales Experience: You have experience as an SDR and a strong understanding of outbound prospecting, email outreach, and lead qualification. You may have recently been promoted into a sales role or are ready for your first chance to prove yourself as a closer
- Technical Background: You have a technical background or the desire or curiosity to get into the technical details. You have experience with or a passion for cybersecurity
- Background and education: Undergraduate degree with at least 3 years of SDR or sales experience
What the job involves
- Sales coordination: You will work directly with the COO to own the end-to-end coordination of sales opportunities, advancing conversation with prospects and project managing internal stakeholders
- Business activity creation: You will drive outbound strategy and execution—sending emails, setting up automations, and re-engaging previous prospects. You’ll also generate leads from our broad open source user base by working with the sales operations team to identify buying signals
- Capture and establish business value with prospects: You will work with prospects to understand their pain points, collect business outcomes and establish the value and ROI of our product. You will help validate our product strategy by documenting what messaging resonates. You will help create repeatable sales messaging that captures the value of our product and how we are differentiated from alternative solutions
- Product feedback loop: You will aggregate feedback from prospects and users, gathering critical product requirements and sharing these with product and engineering teams. You will help prioritize this feedback based on overall impact to the customer
- Hybrid Role: You’ll get the chance to flex both your SDR and sales muscles—doing the necessary groundwork to create opportunities while having the responsibility to close deals once the conversations are in motion. You will also work closely with our early customers to be their advocate and grow our relationship with them over time
Our take
InfoSec is traditionally a fairly secretive and closed profession, but the threats companies face in the online world come from an incredibly diverse range of sources. ProjectDiscovery is an attempt to address this, by allowing a talented community of developers to help design cybersecurity tools in an open source framework.
The founders admit that open source cyber security isn't for everyone - for instance, if tight control over an intellectual property is a priority, then proprietary solutions will be needed. But for big, scalable projects which will interact with lots of diverse customers, then the approach provides instant feedback and an ability to counteract threats as they arise. It has also allowed ProjectDiscovery to grow a developer base of hundreds of engineers and the largest online open source InfoSec community within just a few years.
Having developed a novel concept in the fight against cybercrime, the company has swiftly raised capital in multiple funding rounds. It is using this funding to further develop its products, offering new cloud-based detection and monitoring solutions. As online threats continue to grow, this company seems set to develop into a significant business in this sector.
