Who you are

- 7+ years of related professional experience in operations leadership providing services in B2B corporate environments
- 6+ years of experience in supply chain management with a group purchasing organization, or manufacturer
- Leverage advanced expertise in contracts, negotiation, and vendor management to secure optimal pricing for materials and transportation; bring experience in launching products and building logistics operations in international markets
- Proven management skills with experience building and sustaining global teams
- Demonstrated leadership experience including driving the development of employees
- Demonstrates a high level of leadership, strategic and creative thinking, and problem-solving in an operations role
- Superior organizational skills and systematic-minded approach
- Strong analytical background and mastery of analytical tools
- Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment

What the job involves
- Visit.org is looking for a passionate and ambitious Director of Operations to join our remote team
- The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing fulfillment planning, shipment network design, and optimization strategy, ensuring seamless supply handoff to external partners and end-users
- Lead end-to-end global shipping operations
- Oversee and manage global end-to-end ship and delivery logistics planning and end-user supply chain network design and its continued support
- Plan and initiate the purchase of all supplies, identifying and analyzing departmental cost savings opportunities regarding operating supplies and expenditures
- Ensure that goods are efficiently stored, transported, and delivered on time, including managing importation/customs clearance process into jurisdictions outside the U.S
- Develop relationships with, and manage performance, of wholesalers and delivery networks responsible for providing materials around the world
- Lead contracting and price negotiations with external partners
- Oversee team to evolve strategies, bringing integrated and innovative solutions
- Carry out all relevant line management responsibilities including performance reviews and goal-setting
- Focus on immediate and urgent business needs while driving long-term strategic plans and capability and organizational development
- Work closely with the product team to develop product features
- Develop a departmental playbook outlining key processes and standard operating procedures to streamline interdepartmental collaboration and vendor engagement
- Lead global expansion by identifying and establishing new markets and office locations, including strategic research and understanding of customs regulations
- Oversee data collection processes and collaborate with the product team to develop and enhance dashboards for operational insights
- Drive strategic decision-making on inventory management and join forces with other departments to optimize operational processes
Our take
Visit.org was once of a number of companies that hosted a marketplace of socially impactful travel experiences. But, when travel restrictions and transmission earnings kicked in, it pivoted sharply. Now, it helps companies meet corporate social responsibility (CSR) pressure by providing a curated package of remote, socially impactful activities.
It’s a smart move. CSR pressure is growing as investor expectations regarding social impact are rising. Moreover, it will help companies boost their appeal to younger employees, a majority of whom say they won’t accept jobs from companies with poor CSR policies.
Visit.org’s offering, which additionally helps companies tailor their remote social impact packages by providing employee-preference analytics, is proving both an affordable and reputationally lucrative solution. A large raft of corporate customers including Dolby, Twitch, and IBM will help cement its position going forward.
