Who you are
- Are obsessed with sports. You know who just got called up from Triple-A, who’s about to get benched, and which second-rounder is about to pop. Maybe you played. Maybe you just get it. Either way, you live and breathe the game. Every game, every sport
- Are a builder. We’re not just scaling a business, we’re inventing a category. You want to help create the next eBay, not punch the clock there
- Are curious about trading cards. Maybe you haven’t touched one since middle school. That’s fine. If you think in stats and storylines, we’ll teach you everything else you need to know
- 3–5 years of full-cycle sales experience, ideally in a fast-paced or startup environment
- Proven track record of meeting/exceeding quota and managing pipeline in Salesforce or a similar CRM
- Strong communication skills both with customers and cross-functional teams
- A “get sh*t done” mentality with zero fear of cold outreach, discovery calls, or objection handling
- Love, passion, and borderline obsession with sports and a competitive mindset that drives you to win
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a seasoned Account Executive who knows what it’s like to battle through a sales cycle, lose a deal you thought was a lock, and rebound to hit your quota anyway. If you’ve been in the game for 3–5 years, are fluent in Salesforce, love inbound as much as outbound, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment - this is your shot with Alt
- Close deals. Quick, weekly sales cycles that feed into bi-weekly auction cycles and a monthly quota carry
- Hunt. Your edge will be your ability to prospect and bring in new, high-value sellers and buyers in creative ways, leveraging Alt’s data and outside channels. This is a land grab, and we want someone hungry
- Build trust. This is a tight-knit industry. Relationships matter. You’ll become a go-to name in the space by being helpful, authentic, and relentlessly customer focused
- Shape our product. Know what your customers need? Good. You’re our boots on the ground and you’ll be a vital feedback loop to product and engineering
- Build processes, not just pipelines. Daily discipline around outreach, qualification, disqualification, and follow-up. You are polished in a pipeline review and know your numbers inside out and backward
Our take
Increased interest in alternative assets has resulted in an unexpected boom in the collectables market, as more people are seeking to diversify their portfolios. Alt is a trading and portfolio management platform capitalizing on this exciting new upswing, making it simple to buy and sell investment-grade trading cards.
Initially dealing exclusively with sports cards, the company’s platform has expanded to include other trading card types, ranging from Pokémon to Yu-Gi-Oh! Alt sets itself apart from the competition by offering its users a vast range of attractive options, such as no buyer premiums, cash advances, Alt Vault card storage and borrowing options.
By tackling the three key problems hobbling the uptake of alternative asset investments (liquidity, price transparency, and physical storage) Alt’s success certainly opens the door for further expansion into different assets like art and sneakers, ushering in a new model for alternative asset markets.
