- You’ll have strong attention to detail both reviewing written documents and making sure our event stands and marketing materials look top notch!
- You’ll be proactive in identifying what needs to come next in terms of comms planning and aligning stakeholders to their actions in that plan
- You’ll have strong coordination skills with the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously
- Experience with marketing design tools - you’ll be familiar with creating engaging visuals, promotional assets, and event collateral
- If you have exposure and understanding to the space sector, that's an added bonus!
What the job involves
- The Growth team acts as the powerhouse of the company, ensuring the immediate needs of the customers are swiftly met and the future ones are translated into a product roadmap and deliverable projects
- Each member of the team combines a mix of programmatic, system engineering, and commercial skills with specific strengths
- As the Events and Marketing Assistant, you will be responsible for planning and managing company events, ensuring alignment with our operational objectives across different countries (currently UK, Portugal, Spain, and Greece)
- This dynamic role includes the creation of engaging content across multiple platforms, keeping up with industry trends, understanding audience preferences, and ensuring our messaging resonates with our target audience
- You will support the Marketing and Communications Manager in organisational tasks and assist the Digital Marketing Executive in managing SEO and social media campaigns, and analysing campaign metrics
- You will design and produce high-quality marketing materials, such as brochures, presentations, email campaigns, and promotional assets, ensuring all content adheres to brand guidelines and supports marketing initiatives
Our take
Satellite data is critical in order to solve some of the world's most pressing matters, such as climate change and the loss of biodiversity. While data and precise analytical tools able to draw insights are available, the problem is they lack interoperability between platforms, and the ability to combine this data from different satellites is inaccessible.
Founded in 2015, Open Cosmos is a SpaceTech startup with the aim to simplify access to space. The company designs, manufactures and operates satellites that are part of its "Open Constellation". Meanwhile its platform, DataCosmos, makes satellite data access easier for organisations and governments, combining earth observation data from multiple sources to help with the mitigation of environmental and sustainability challenges.
Partnerships with organisations such as Innovate UK, ESA and the UK Space Agency are supporting Open Cosmos as it expands operations, growing its team and ideas. 2023 has seen the company launch a nanosatellite named MENUT that "hitched a ride" on a SpaceX rocket, pass three milestone reviews for its next nanosatellite (that combines EO technologies with an IoT radio), and sign a deal with Satellite Applications Catapult to build and launch a key demonstration satellite that will perform pole-to-pole observation of Atlantic coastal and maritime areas.
