Role
Who you are
- 8+ years of experience focused on commercial contracts in B2B SaaS, ideally in cybersecurity
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to create or improve templates and playbooks
- Excellent attention to detail, prioritization, and practical judgment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain the highest standard of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism
- JD and active license required

What the job involves
- We’re looking for a hands-on, business-minded attorney to own all commercial contracting at SpecterOps. You will be the primary legal partner for our Sales, Customer Success, Security, and Procurement teams, and you’ll guide and mentor members of the contracts/legal staff
- This role is ideal for someone who loves commercial deals, enjoys working directly with the business, and wants to improve an existing playbook while advancing people, process, and technology capabilities
- Lead negotiation and drafting of customer MSAs, SOWs, order forms, renewals, amendments, DPAs, and vendor SaaS/service agreements
- Improve the existing contracts playbook by identifying gaps and clarifying fallback positions
- Enhance the contracts function through better people, process, and technology alignment
- Partner with Sales, Security, Finance, and Procurement to balance risk with deal velocity
- Provide guidance and leadership to members of the contracts/legal staff
- Work with outside counsel as needed and help shape the future operating model of the legal/contracts function
- What Success Looks Like in 12 Months:
- Contracts operate with high autonomy, with standard deals handled efficiently by staff
- The balance between risk protection and deal speed is optimized
- Cycle time metrics have materially improved and are visible to leadership
- Processes and tools are standardized so that business teams engage legal efficiently
- The company has confidence that contracts are well-managed and predictable

As the onslaught of cybersecurity threats rises and evolves, SpecterOps takes an adversary-focused approach to defend its clients against harmful attacks. Adversary-focused cybersecurity goes above and beyond defense measures to actually impose costs and threats on the attackers, acting as a deterrent for potential hacks.
The old saying “the best defense is a good offense” is relevant here, and SpecterOps, with a co-founder with a background doing similar for the US Marines, has plenty of experience deflecting cyber threats. The company’s Bloodhound software maps and removes potential attack paths and choke points and consults on how companies can improve security. Bloodhound was initially leveraged by penetration testers but has found wider adoption over the last two years, with its customer base growing by 600% in that time. Clients include Capital Group, Woodside Energy, and the University of Texas.
This proactive approach to defense has drawn in considerable investment, SpecterOps having raised two rounds of Series A in 2023 and further VC in 2024. This funding will go towards accelerating what is already a highly popular cyber defense product, whilst 2026 saw it expand its Bloodhound coverage to GitHub and Mac environments.
