Who you are
- 1+ years of experience in internal communications and/or employee engagement, developing company-wide communication initiatives
- 1-2 years of professional experience in related industry (retail, communications, operations, etc.)
- Proficient in Google Suite (incl. Slides, Docs, Sheets, Gmail) or Microsoft Suite
- Self-starter, works independently - prioritizes tasks and meets deadlines, including holding others to deadlines
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
- Team player, able to communicate with various levels in the organization
- Passion for communicating in creative ways
- Impeccable attention to detail, ability to proofread and use tools to write error-free copy
- Strong organization, time-management, and prioritization skills
- Ability to learn and pivot quickly
- Ability to take feedback/coaching and implement to improve and develop skills

What the job involves
- The RealReal is hiring an Engagement Coordinator to support the Inbound Operations team by delivering
- This highly professional, self-disciplined, and collaborative individual will drive results by tracking engagement projects, creating and deploying communications, and measuring the success of all engagement initiatives
- This role will support the team in delivering engagement strategies that improve engagement scores, streamline processes, and elevate communication across the organization
- Facilitate and support engagement initiatives including incentive and recognition programs, leader visits, etc
- Craft and deploy centralized, internal communications in partnership with Sr. Manager, Field Deployment including team newsletter, recognition communications, etc
- Leverage data and surveys to identify areas of improvement and make recommendations on employee engagement initiatives to Sr. Manager, Field Training
- Design and propose tools + processes that enable leaders to drive results through streamlined engagement initiatives
- Track and report KPI’s for engagement initiatives, providing recommendations and insight to leadership to drive informed decision making

The company has sought to boost its activities through strategic moves like a partnership with Gucci, which is focusing on sustainability as it incentivises its customers to buy authenticated secondhand goods via The RealReal. Also, there have been forward-thinking approaches to customer acquisition and retention such as AI pricing and fake finding. Regardless, as a primarily retail-based company, The RealReal was affected by inflation in 2023 and made a 7% cut to its workforce to reduce operational costs in the first quarter. 2024 Q1 also showed the company to report a loss with an optimistic hope for growth in the following quarters.
