Product and Commercial Counsel, Blend

• Blend is looking for a motivated attorney who enjoys solving complex problems to join our Legal & Compliance team
• Minimum of 4-6 years of combined relevant experience in in-house legal departments, law firms, and/or governmental agencies
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills
• Ability to work independently and adaptively, anticipate and mitigate friction points, and take the initiative to drive projects to completion
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
• JD and a member of a state bar

Desirable

• As Product and Commercial Counsel, you will (i) advise on legal and regulatory risks relating to the company’s product development lifecycle and (ii) negotiate various commercial agreements, including sales, partnership, and vendor agreements

• Counsel our Product, Engineering, Business Development, and go-to-market teams throughout the product lifecycle on applicable legal and regulatory requirements and risks
• Anticipate and identify legal and regulatory risks, and propose creative and effective solutions to mitigate these risks with a business-focused mindset
• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements, including sales, partnership, and vendor agreements in support of product and enterprise initiatives
• Remain up-to-date on relevant industry, consumer protection, and privacy laws and regulations
• Partner with the broader Legal & Compliance team in various other corporate and enterprise initiatives as such opportunities arise
