Role
Who you are
- 7+ years of experience in mobile development (Java, Kotlin, Swift)
- Experience with CMS in general; experience with Headless CMS is a plus
- Thorough knowledge of consuming RESTful APIs. GraphQL APIs is a plus
- Demonstrable experience in semi-native technologies (React Native, Flutter, etc)
- Demonstrable experience as author and maintainer of mobile open-source projects
- Active involvement and participation in open-source communities
- Experience with technical writing
- Good problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
- Strong command of the English language
- Good communication skills that facilitate interaction with multiple stakeholders and across departments
- You are confident, detail-oriented, and highly motivated to contribute to the organization's growth as part of a high-performing team

What the job involves
- We are looking for a Senior Mobile Developer Experience (DX) Engineer who will play a key role in enhancing the developer experience on mobile technologies for our open-source packages
- In this role, you will lead initiatives to improve and maintain our SDKs and tooling, collaborate with internal teams, advocate about your work, and foster a vibrant open-source community
- You’ll mentor others, drive projects autonomously, and ensure alignment with business priorities while championing best practices in software development
- Actively develop, maintain, and enhance Storyblok’s open-source packages and tooling to deliver exceptional developer experiences, both on mobile native and semi-native technologies
- Triage and respond to public issues, questions, and pull requests, maintaining high engagement and satisfaction in the developer community on a daily basis
- Applying best practices on software architecture and design patterns, mentoring others to create decoupled, clean, and scalable code
- Leading projects autonomously, coordinating with the other roles in the team and department to achieve our DX goals and maintenance
- Actively participating in code reviews and ensuring packages are well tested and automated, maintaining CI/CD in a pragmatic way
- Establishing and ensuring a consistent stack, structure, and process across projects, looking for opportunities for standardization
- Participate in the creation of clear and extensive documentation related to our tooling and its usage
- Fostering the community around our mobile open-source packages, including active participation in community discussions on Discord
- Driving company-wide promotion of key updates related to our open-source packages (e.g. major releases, new features, new packages etc.), coordinating with the right product and engineering teams
- Watching out for opportunities to advocate and share knowledge about our mobile packages, tooling, and SDKs, both within Storyblok and externally
- Helping the Support Team answer questions about the product and how to use it
- Helping teammates overcome obstacles, resolving blockers, and completing work tasks
- Mentoring teammates in an open, respectful, flexible, and empathetic manner. Pursuing mentorship opportunities specifically to build functional redundancy and increase overall staffing capacity
Our take
A headless content management system (CMS) consists of a back-end that stores the content and a decoupled front-end display. This lets the content be streamed to any platform including apps, wearable devices or digital displays via an API. Compared to the other headless CMS solutions, Storyblok’s CMS provides highly customisable content blocks and visual editing tools. This gives developers the flexibility to build fast and reliable digital platforms. It is the first headless CMS to integrate such features into a modern headless architecture.
The company counts Pizza Hut, Adidas, UPC, Greggs and Decathlon amongst clients, alongside many thousands of solo developers that use their CMS. These are powering more than 74,000 projects across 130 countries.
Storyblok intends to use its new funding to expand its presence in the USA after its previous round accelerated expansion in key European markets including Germany and Ireland.
