- Collaborative Spirit: Excellent cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with product, engineering, design, and customer success teams
- Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 days per week in our San Francisco office (4 blocks from Giants stadium)
- 5+ years of startup experience in product or product marketing roles working directly with engineering and design
- Proven experience driving in-product adoption and engagement, ideally with a user-first, data-informed approach
- Passion for the sports content or creator economy, with an understanding of the unique needs of content creators and entrepreneurs
- Comfort in a fast-paced, startup environment with a proactive approach to solving problems for our users
What the job involves
- Leading product engagement, you’ll play a crucial role in shaping how sports content creator “CEOs” experience and engage with the DubClub product experience
- This is a unique, highly visible IC role, designed for someone who thrives on product-led growth and deeply understands user needs. You’ll be responsible for driving creator engagement and retention post-sale, ensuring these creators maximize the DubClub platform to grow their revenue
- With your guidance, our product org will be empowered to execute strategies that resonate with users and align with our product roadmap
- Your #1 Priority: For the foreseeable future, you will be responsible for increasing the usage of our product by sports content creator CEOs and their teams on DubClub
- Specifically, after 90 days you will be expected to have begun executing against a plan devised by you to increase the % of creator DAU/MAU on DubClub. Why? Our mission is to help more people Win More Together; to achieve this, we are laser focused on building a business operating system that helps sports content creator CEOs make more money on DubClub with less effort
- Individual Contributor First: You will lead from the front as a builder who leads by doing – no job is beneath you, and you understand that to build something great, you have to understand our users; this involves getting in the weeds early and often
- Translate Product Vision Into Product: Your roadmap contributions will serve your #1 priority; you will collaborate closely with our CEO and founding Designer to translate our product vision into the product experience; own and execute product implementation in a way that leans into the psyche of our users; more usage translates to more creators generating sales, which leads to more revenue for DubClub
- Insight-Driven Strategy: You will be scrappy to independently analyze usage data, conduct user interviews, and generate insights to identify friction points and opportunities for improvement within the product. Use these insights to execute against your plan
Our take
Sports content creators, known as Cappers, are valuable information sources for those placing bets on sports matches. However, the founders of DubClub discovered that collating all these creators' information was an unreliable process of scrolling through different sources. Its solution is a platform where sports content creators are paid to publish their videos and blogs on one platform, creating a centralized source of information for bettors and sports content subscribers.
The concept behind DubClub is multifaceted in that it works both as a betting source for odds and strategies, but also as a social media and publishing marketplace for the casual sports fan. The paid subscriptions to specific content creators mean that income for creators isn’t diluted through aggregated monthly earnings, meaning that in theory, content creators would make more direct income than on other platforms reliant on advertising.
Though a small company, more informed betting and higher earnings for content creators are an attractive prospect for consumers and creators alike. DubClub is only set to grow off the back of 2024’s round of $7.5 million in Series A funding. It’ll be interesting to see how the company develops its platform and market share.
