Our take
The underserved hospitality market suffers from a lack of transparency regarding tips and payment, which is why TIPJAR created its platform to help restaurant, bar, and service staff control and distribute their paperless tips. Co-founded by the CEO of Brewdog Bars, TIPJAR is a financial management platform that empowers the entire service industry pipeline.
Alongside its tip management software, TIPJAR’s tronc management platform helps teams collect and share service charges and credit card tips with transparency and trust and overall the company helps to save on National Insurance Contributions and streamline admin.
TIPJAR made news in 2023 when it beat Twitter in a legal battle to retain the rights to its name. Described as David & Goliath-esque, this legal victory reflects the company’s ethos of empowering the historically underpaid workers of the service industry.
