Role
Who you are
- Degree in Statistics, Economics, Econometrics, Physics, Data Science or other Quantitative Discipline a plus
- 1-3 years relevant professional experience
- Experience leveraging statistics/econometrics with direct business application (Prediction, Forecasting, Inference)
- Experience developing business/customer insights using novel econometric techniques a plus
- Experience with Alteryx, R, Python or other statistical software
- Experience leveraging visualization tools (Tableau, Qlik, etc.) to translate complex process/model output into deep business/customer insights
- Exceptional teamwork and coaching skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting technical concepts to all levels of internal/external customers
- Ability to think on your feet and problem solve
- Experience working in a fast-paced culture, managing multiple deliverables a plus
What the job involves
- Alteryx is searching for a Data Scientist
- As a data scientist, you will work closely with our marketing, sales, customer experience, and/or operations teams to develop novel solutions to business problems by harnessing the power of data
- In addition, you will serve as a trusted advisor to our business leaders by analyzing the performance of Go-To-Market programs and providing strategic recommendations for improvement
- As a data science team, we continuously push ourselves to develop professionally and give back to the community
- As a member of the team, you will be encouraged to participate in regular innovation challenges and hackathons where we develop new data science and machine learning proofs-of-concept that highlight the value of data science solutions
- In addition, you will have opportunities to volunteer with Alteryx for Good mission, helping schools and citizen data scientists around the world become more data literate, more capable answering questions, and more able to solve problems
- Design: Build robust, end-to-end data science products by partnering with business customers throughout the company
- Technical Creativity: Leverage & implement a wide array of statistical, econometrics, ML and advanced analytics methods to drive business insights and support data-driven decisions
- Tenacity & Business Savvy: Constant & unstoppable drive to iterate and improve business processes and practices through the application of data science techniques

Our take
Alteryx brings a suite of tools to automate data driven processes on a large scale, massively speeding up data based procedures. The system also uses AI to analyse data and provide insights to enable rapid decision making.
What Alteryx does differently from other data science tool developers is focus on the accessibility of its software, taking a low code/no code approach. This allows for greater collaboration between people with differing skill sets, speeding up processes for its users.
The business has made some strategic partnerships over time, most notably with Snowflake and Blue Prism. And with AI becoming more, Alteryx is projected to make major inroads in its market as more companies turn to automated solutions for data analysis.
