Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of experience as a full stack engineer
- Solid knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript
- Significant frontend experience, ideally with frameworks like Angular
- Previous backend experience, ideally with Python (and FastAPI)
- Solid knowledge of testing
- Familiarity with map libraries such as Mapbox GL JS, Leaflet, or OpenLayers
- Experience with PostgreSQL + PostGIS for geospatial data handling
- Experience working with geospatial data formats (GeoJSON, GeoParquet, etc.)
- Understanding of RESTful API design and integration
Desirable
- Previous experience on scaling map-based platforms
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools
- Experience with GCP, especially BigQuery
- Data pipeline experience
- Knowledge of tiler servers (e.g. TiTiler, TiPG)
- Familiarity with data science concepts
- Interest in or experience with climate, sustainability, or international development topics
What the job involves
- As a Full Stack Engineer at VIDA, you’ll play a key role in building powerful tools that turn complex geospatial data into intuitive, high-impact solutions - all while collaborating across teams and technologies
- Build and maintain end-to-end features that visualize and interact with geospatial datasets
- Work across the stack - from frontend map-based UIs to backend services and data processing pipelines
- Integrate and work with geospatial libraries, APIs, and services (e.g., PostGIS, Mapbox)
- Collaborate with data scientists, designers, and product teams to deliver user-centric solutions
- Contribute to the architecture and scalability of our platform
- Ensure high performance, usability, and accessibility of map-based applications and APIs

Vida is a geospatial software solution working to manage climate risk in infrastructure investment.
The company uses a dashboard of analytics for a clear view on business ESGs to risk assessment data, a feature also helpful to show to stakeholders for investment decisions. Bringing a data-led approach to its clients goals, the company is working toward its own goal of a decentralised world. Vida’s efforts has led it to be included in 30 of the top global leaders working toward climate solutions and nominated for an The Earthshot Prize by the PDIE Group.
The World Bank and RTI International are two of the many organisations using Vida’s platform. A recent funding investment means the company is set to pursue goals of accelerating growth, expanding to new markets, and building out more unique climate risk and impact assessment tools.
