Role
Who you are
- We need someone who thrives in the "zero-to-one" phase of a company - someone who is comfortable building a pipeline from scratch without a brand name to open the door for them
- The Track Record: You’ve sold into the US Grocery Retail space before. You understand how these companies think, how they buy, and who the stakeholders are. You have a track record of closing deals in the $100k to $2M ARR range
- The Experience: You’ve likely been the first sales hire at a start-up or a foreign company before. You know how to navigate long, complex sales cycles and the internal politics that come with enterprise deals
- The Tech IQ: You don’t need to be an engineer, but you should be comfortable explaining how AI and computer vision impact a retailer's bottom line. If you’re a "4 out of 10" on the technical scale, you’ll do great
- The Mindset: You have a true hunter mentality—self-directed, persistent, and motivated by creating opportunities where none existed. You take ownership of building a territory from the ground up and turning it into a dominant market force
- The Style: You’re consultative and value-led. You don’t just "sell"; you solve problems for executives
What the job involves
- As our first US hire, you aren't just managing a territory; you’re building the blueprint for our US business. This is a true "full cycle" sales role, responsible for:
- Opening doors: Proactively hunting for new opportunities—identifying, targeting, and engaging senior decision-makers at Tier 1 and Tier 2 US grocery retailers through outbound, referrals, and creative deal sourcing
- Closing big deals: Leading the charge on 7-figure, multi-year enterprise agreements
- Being the face of the brand: Whether it’s a boardroom pitch or a major industry event, you’ll be the person representing SeeChange in the US
- Setting the strategy: We have the targets, but you are empowered to figure out the best way to win them
Our take
SeeChange Technologies delivers visual AI for the retail space, with solutions that can help stores to enhance safety and efficiency for employees and shoppers. Already used by a number of clients, including supermarket chain ASDA, the platform processes video from a retailer's existing hardware to automatically identify hazards and analyse behaviours.
The platform is built upon state-of-the-art AI recognition technology that can interpret the real world and understand physical activity. Through this, it provides insights into objects and people in-store. Though its most interesting application is in identifying potential theft and safety concerns such as spills, it can also be used to streamline self-checkouts, and proactively restock items.
Having raised substantial funding in 2023, SeeChange Technologies is moving to enhance its commercial deployment capabilities and build out commercial and support teams. With such an intriguing offering, it is very likely the company will continue to secure new clients as it moves into its next stage of growth.
