What the job involves

We're seeking a Design Manager to lead our Accounting product. This role combines strategic product thinking with nurturing team growth—an opportunity to shape both innovative financial products and the careers of talented designers
You'll join our collaborative community of 40+ designers who combine deep product thinking with genuine care for craft and each other's growth. Your work will directly impact how businesses manage their finances, making complex accounting workflows feel effortless
Own and drive the design strategy for Mercury's new accounting product, ensuring seamless integration with our existing platform
Create cohesive experiences across multiple surfaces (accountant-specific tools, Mercury dashboard, customer onboarding)
Lead a growing team of designers focused on accounting products, providing mentorship and establishing processes for success
Partner closely with executive, product, and engineering leadership to define and execute on the accounting product roadmap
Translate complex accounting workflows into intuitive user experiences that save our customers time and effort
Build frameworks for making design decisions that balance user needs, technical constraints, and regulatory requirements
Help grow the team by hiring designers who can elevate our accounting product experience
