Role

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field. An MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus
  • 5+ years of marketing experience, with a strong background in both strategy and execution
  • Proven experience in a high-growth startup environment, ideally at the Series A+ stage
  • Leadership experience, particularly in building and managing a marketing team from scratch
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, including SEO, SEM, social media, and content marketing
  • Proficiency in marketing automation tools and CRM platforms
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to make informed decisions
  • Energetic, with a passion for innovation and growth

What the job involves

  • We are seeking an energetic and experienced Marketing Manager with a strong hands-on approach to build and lead our marketing department from the ground up
  • This role is pivotal to our continued success, offering a unique opportunity to set the strategy and direction for Burq’s marketing efforts while executing key initiatives directly
  • Department Leadership: Develop and lead the marketing department, establishing best practices and processes while being directly involved in executing key marketing activities
  • Brand Strategy: Craft and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with Burq’s growth objectives
  • Website Management: Oversee a complete revamp of the company website to enhance user experience and brand messaging
  • Product Marketing: Drive product marketing efforts, ensuring clear communication of product value propositions to target audiences
  • Social Media: Manage and grow our social media presence, particularly on LinkedIn, to engage with our community and industry stakeholders
  • Content Creation: Develop compelling content for webinars, blogs, and other marketing collateral to drive engagement and brand awareness
  • Event Management: Plan and execute webinars, conferences, and other events that position Burq as a leader in the industry
  • Willingness to Travel: Represent Burq at conferences and events to build industry relationships and enhance brand visibility
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the marketing budget to maximize ROI
  • Partnership Development: Identify and build strategic partnerships to enhance brand presence
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize analytics to drive marketing strategies and optimize performance
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, product, and customer success teams to align marketing strategies with business objectives

Surviving within today's business landscape depends on meeting the on-demand delivery needs of B2C sales, something that can be difficult to achieve as a small business. Whilst last-mile delivery warehouses save small businesses from having to build their own delivery infrastructure, working exclusively with a single provider can greatly limit delivery options and stall a company's growth.

Burq provides an on-demand B2C delivery service platform which allows businesses to access multiple delivery providers for same-day delivery. The platform integrates directly with major sales platforms such as Zapier and Shopify, offering an analytic dashboard and delivery tracker across different modes of transport and providers.

Taking advantage of the growth in the last-mile delivery sector, Burq has scaled its operations, swiftly building a thriving customer base in the small retailer and startup sectors. Having received funding from investors such as Village Global, it is aiming to hire additional talent and increase its marketing reach to bring on new clients.
