Role
Who you are
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, or related fields
- Strong hands-on AWS experience and familiarity with Azure
- Expertise with infrastructure as code, including Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK
- Solid Linux, Git, and production systems administration skills
- Experience developing automation solutions in Python or similar languages
- Experience running and securing production environments
- AI-native working style with regular use of tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar
- Excellent written communication and documentation capabilities
Desirable
- Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
- Experience in regulated environments such as healthcare, HIPAA, GDPR, ISO 27001, or SOC 2
- AWS certifications

- Reporting to: VP Product Technology & Platform
- We are looking for a technically strong DevOps engineer who wants to grow into a leadership role by delivering results first
- You will help shape the future of our cloud platform, improve developer productivity, and support healthcare innovations that positively impact patients worldwide
- Build and operate scalable cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines
- Automate deployments, operational processes, and developer workflows
- Improve platform reliability, security, and observability
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate engineering delivery and reduce manual effort
- Support and mentor teammates while growing into a DevOps leadership position
- Your team will include:
- Product engineering teams across multiple countries
- Platform, security, data, and cloud specialists
- Cross-functional stakeholders supporting healthcare and life sciences solutions
- As the team grows, this role is expected to become a key technical and leadership position within the DevOps function
- Your roadmap in this role:
- Within 6 months: Stabilize active DevOps initiatives and accelerate delivery velocity
- Identify opportunities for automation and operational improvements
- Within a year: Deliver highly automated, reliable, and observable deployment processes
- Significantly reduce operational toil through automation and AI-native practices

Our take
BC Platforms is a technology company offering a genomic data management platform for the development of personalised medicine approaches, accelerating the translation of insights into clinical practices. The platform is designed to support secure and efficient management, analysis, and interpretation of genomic data and provides a comprehensive solution for managing that data across the entire lifecycle, from sample collection to data analysis and reporting.
Alongside this, BC Platforms developed a Global Data Partner Network (BCRQUEST), which allows access to high-quality real-world data. This network has seen rapid growth and is now used across many sites, including a network of hospitals, and covers over 20 countries across the world, providing standard-of-care data for over 187M patients.
What began as an MIT Whitehead project in 1997 has since developed into a strong scientific heritage over the past 25 years.
