Role
Who you are
- 4+ years of experience as a developer
- 2+ years in a startup environment
- 2+ years with Typescript + React
- 2+ years with Nodejs or similar framework
- 2+ years with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
- You should be experienced and flexible when designing and creating backend services, single page apps, and databases. You'll have the chance to take ownership of key projects, work closely with our Lead Engineer, and grow alongside our expanding team
- We're a Typescript house front and back. Good experience with SOA, JS, testing, docker, HTML5, accessible UX are all highly desirable

- Medicspot is an award-winning startup addressing the global obesity epidemic through our GLP-1 weight loss programmes
- Obesity is one of the most pressing health issues of our time, causing over 2.8 million deaths annually. The worldwide prevalence of obesity nearly tripled between 1975 and 2016. Today, almost 3⁄4 of adults aged 45-74 in England are overweight or obese

- The Medicspot system is made up of many individual products that work together to power the service our patients love. We're looking for a full stack developer who can gel as part of the wider team and offer support in a variety of capacities
Application process
- 1. Recruiter Call – 30 mins. With: Courtney (Recruitment Lead). An introductory chat to learn more about you, your background, and what you're looking for. We’ll also answer any initial questions about Medicspot and the role.
- 2. Technical Interview – 1 hour. With: Cordell (Technical Lead) 30 mins on your experience and technical approach 30 mins of JavaScript/TypeScript knowledge questions
- 3. Technical Deep Dive – 1.5 hours. With: Cordell (Technical Lead). Walk through a real product ticket. We’ll discuss API design, architecture, and trade-offs. Includes a collaborative exercise to see how you think and solve problems.
- 4. Interview – 30 mins. With: Adam (Chief Marketing Officer). Learn more about our growth, how product and marketing work together, and share how you collaborate cross-functionally.
- 5. Paid Work Trial – 1 day (6 hours) Remote or in person. Work on a scoped real-world task. A chance to experience our workflow and show us how you work in practice.

Medicspot offers clinically-proven weight loss treatments deisgned to provide real, lasting results. Its program helps individuals lose up to 26% of their body weight in 84 weeks, with ongoing support from health coaches, dieticians, and behaviour change courses. The service aims to address not just the physical aspect of weight loss, but also the behavioural challenges that often hinder long-term results, offering tools for sustainable lifestyle changes.
With a growing demand for convenient treatments, Medicspot is focused on growing its network of clinics across the UK. Already offerings an array of telemedicine solutions for the NHS, the company is focused on expanding the number of pharmacies it works with and to put pharmacies at the forefront of primary care.
