Company mission

We’re on a mission. And it’s money without borders. Instant, convenient, transparent and — eventually — free.

Role

Who you are

  • We are looking for an executive who has a proven track record (10+ years) leading and scaling high-performing teams in a delivery or operations function, ideally within the financial services or payments industry
  • You’re able to set strategy and help teams deliver against these, building consensus across multiple functions, even where competing priorities exist
  • You have a deep understanding of the cross border payments landscapes and understand how to deliver results in this space - a deep knowledge of REST APIs, SWIFT, and local payment networks is a plus
  • You have fresh ideas – You’re prepared to challenge the status quo and are interested in solving problems. You are able to communicate the impact of those ideas and formulate and execute on plans to implement them
  • You’re an excellent, influential communicator. You can adapt your communication style to different audiences. You’re able to persuade others and you aren’t afraid to challenge something when you need to
  • You’re analytical and detail-oriented, using data to track performance and assess opportunities to increase productivity
  • You are proactive - you see a problem and start to solve it without waiting for others to be involved
  • You are Mission-driven and customer-focused,looking for collaborative partnerships that will benefit the customer and contribute to the Wise Mission

What the job involves

  • We’re looking for a dynamic Regional Delivery Lead for North America (NAM) who is passionate about the Wise mission – money without borders
  • You’ll be a part of the Wise Platform team, supporting the NAM Delivery teams - Presales Consultants, Implementation Managers and Solution Engineers, helping us grow and deliver high-quality payment services to our partners and their customers across the NAM region
  • As our first Regional Delivery Lead for NAM, you will set the standard for regional delivery operations, leading growth and ensuring the smooth delivery of payment solutions
  • You’ll lead and coach our regional team, working towards ambitious goals to achieve our growth objectives in North America
  • Create a regional delivery strategy that aligns to our business goals and support its execution and evolution
  • Drive a culture of high performance that is focused on measurable outcomes; oversee regional delivery metrics, collaborating with global leads to ensure alignment
  • Support the Delivery teams in managing pipelines, delivering high-quality solutions and quick results
  • Nurture excellent relationships with our partners, supporting escalations, and ensure they love the experience we offer them
  • Build strong relationships with key regional teams, fostering collaboration and alignment to manage risks effectively
  • Manage all delivery risks for regional deals—including project, financial, compliance, and reputational— by proactively challenging teams and ensuring robust mitigation plans are in place

Our take

Wise started when the two founders realised they would be better off trading Estonian kroons for British pounds (and vice versa) between themselves rather than going through banks. That was back in 2011, and they've since grown Wise into one of Europe's most successful tech businesses, exchanging billions of currency every month.

Wise rapidly grew by solving a significant problem for customers, who lost too much money to banks when exchanging currency. They've attracted investment from some of the best investors in the world, from Andreesen Horowitz to Index Ventures and even Richard Branson.

The challenge for Wise will be maintaining their edge and brand power in a market that's becoming increasingly crowded with new entrants (like Revolut and Monzo) and incumbents (traditional banks) trying to catch up. To do so, the company is ramping up its digital and marketing strategies, as well as pushing for further development of its existing products.
