Who you are
- The ideal candidate is both technically proficient and highly consultative, with the ability to translate complex product capabilities into compelling, value-driven narratives
- 5+ years of experience in Higher Education
- Strong understanding of SaaS platforms and ability to discuss technical concepts (e.g., integrations, APIs, data flows)
- Proven ability to deliver compelling presentations and product demonstrations
- Strong consultative and discovery skills with the ability to influence decision-making
- Ability to balance technical depth with business storytelling
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience supporting complex sales cycles is preferred
- Ability to travel within North America
What the job involves
- The Solutions Engineer is responsible for supporting the sale of Modern Campus’ Lifelong Learning (LLL) solutions
- This role is a critical partner to the sales organization, combining technical expertise with strong business acumen to help prospective and existing clients understand how our platform supports continuing education, workforce development, and non-traditional learning programs
- This individual will play a key role in driving new business and expanding existing client relationships through impactful demonstrations and strategic engagement
- You'll act as the functional and technical expert for Modern Campus Lifelong Learning solutions throughout the sales cycle
- Deliver engaging, tailored product demonstrations that connect platform capabilities to client-specific challenges and goals
- Lead technical discovery sessions to uncover requirements and align solutions to institutional needs
- Partner closely with Regional Directors and Account Managers to shape sales strategy and progress opportunities
- Build customized demo environments and workflows that reflect real-world use cases in continuing education and workforce development
- Translate technical features into clear business value for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Support RFPs and proposals by providing detailed functional and technical responses
- Address technical questions related to integrations, data, architecture, and platform capabilities
- Act as the voice of the customer by sharing insights and feedback with Product and Engineering teams
- Stay informed on trends in lifelong learning, workforce development, and digital transformation in higher education

Modern Campus offers a whole suite of engagement-oriented SaaS products for higher education institutions, including enrollment, communication, curriculum management, and career pathways planning.
The company’s roots go back to 1982 and the early days of web development and SaaS, but a 2019 merger between higher education CMS OmniUpdate, and Student Lifecycle Management (SLM) company Destiny Solutions, led to a 2021 rebrand as Modern Campus.
Now over 2,000 North American institutions are customers of the company, including St. Louis University and Utah Valley University. This gives an indication of Modern Campus’ relevance and strength of position in the market.
There are no signs of slowing down as Modern Campus looks to tap into increasing demand for the modernization of campus life. Since rebranding, the company has been making key acquisitions in the higher education sector to expand its own service range, including campus engagement platform Presence and conversational text messaging platform Signal Vine. Growth funding awarded in 2025 will be used to develop its product and continue its acquisition spree.
