Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent preferred but not required
- 4+ years of experience designing and implementing cloud solutions using AWS services, including but not limited to: EC2, S3, VPC, Route 53
- Experience deploying and maintaining various data sources for structured and unstructured data
- Creative problem solver with a passion for testing, debugging, and maintaining cloud infrastructure
- Willingness to learn and use new technologies
- Self-motivated and committed to delivering quality solutions
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment
- Effective communicator, works well in a team environment
- Demonstrated analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Detail oriented with strong documentation skills
- Availability for delivery of a 24/7 service operation

- At Hirevue, we’re looking for a Cloud Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to make a measurable impact on the future of hiring technology
- As a key member of our Infrastructure team, you’ll design, build, and optimize our cloud-native hosting environment on AWS, helping power seamless experiences for millions of users around the globe. You’ll work at the forefront of cloud technologies, partnering across engineering and product teams to create scalable, secure, and efficient systems that keep us one step ahead
- Architect and implement cloud-first solutions on AWS to support a rapidly growing global user base
- Build scalable infrastructure that meets performance and reliability demands
- Own operational excellence—optimize, maintain, secure, and migrate critical data systems
- Collaborate cross-functionally with development and product teams to deliver software from concept to production
- Ensure high availability and resilience of cloud systems through thoughtful design and monitoring
- Automate everything—from deployment to support—to increase efficiency and reduce downtime
- Explore and experiment with emerging technologies to drive continuous innovation
- Investigate and resolve incidents, implement root-cause fixes, and create long-term solutions
- Be part of the team—join on-call rotations and contribute to a collaborative, learning-oriented environment
Our take
Companies are facing increasing competition to attract job seekers and therefore need new ways to make interviewing processes more accessible. HireVue does exactly this, working with companies to conduct video interviews - live or recorded - that are scheduled around a candidate’s availability.
In order to do so, the company has deployed the use of artificial intelligence, which assesses and scores a candidate based on skills like problem-solving and communication. This not only doubles the number of interviews and hires that a company can make (in less than half the time) but improves candidate quality. For this reason, companies like Amazon and Unilever deploy its services to scale and accelerate their hiring processes, a great reflection of the quality of HireVue's offering.
The company has met criticism, however, with some claiming its analysis of factors like facial movements, word choice or speaking voice is simply a blend of superficial measurements and arbitrary number-crunching that could be seen as unfair discrimination. Despite this, HireVue does seem to have found an interesting angle into the fruitful hiring industry and will look to expand its position over the coming years.
